America’s worst mayor Tiffany Henyard has broken her silence after an epic meltdown following a political rally.
Dolton’s mayor lost the Democratic nomination for Thornton Township supervisor — a position she has held since 2022 — on Tuesday night after the township held an intense caucus instead of a primary.
The decision caused Henyard to have an epic meltdown, during which she yelled at her opponent Napoleon Harris, a senator who had the right to decide whether a nominee is determined through a primary or a caucus.
After many months of criticism from her constituents, Henyard has finally broken her silence and is threatening legal action.
Henyard was left out of the April primary for the Democratic Party’s caucus vote.
“It was voter suppression, and we have a problem with that,” Henyard said ABC7 Chicago. “They are neglecting their duties as trustees and should therefore be removed from office.
She insisted she will appear on the ballot in April for the city supervisor position, which she holds in addition to her mayoral position.
“One hundred percent sure it will be me,” she said. “They have taken many illegal actions, and my lawyer is currently preparing the lawsuit.”

She has warned that Thornton Township may have to close if the insurance is not approved by the board after two trustees boycotted multiple meetings, the outlet reported. Without them nothing can be done because they don’t have enough members to do business.
Trustee Chris Gonzalez said he chose not to attend to prevent Henyard from appointing a new trustee who would give her more power to continue her reign of chaos.
“If she gets that third spot, then it’s kind of free reign over everything… finances, hiring, firing, things like that,” the curator told ABC 7. “We just think it’s important to give it to the people to make that choice. .’
But Henyard said the absence of Gonzalez and trustee Carmen Carlisle could lead to the township closing because they currently don’t have any insurance.
‘How do we work? We have our vehicles, we have people coming into our buildings. If you fall, how do we pay for it? We are not covered. So what now? Should we take it out of our general fund?’ asked the mayor of Dolton.
‘Don’t create chaos. Don’t hurt the residents, because you all think you hurt me. You’re not. You’re hurting people.’
However, many of her residents would say she is creating chaos because her track record is damn low.
In October, the well-dressed mayor was chased out of a town meeting by angry residents.

Despite the meeting’s location being moved to local park district facilities after Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office found that Dolton had violated the state’s Open Meetings Act, Henyard attempted to hold a separate board meeting at Village Hall , thus WSL.
Finally, she headed to the park district building and announced that she was vetoing everything the board had already voted on.
“I just want to come out here and lay down the law as it relates to what’s happening in our town, where we are and where we’re going,” Henyard said.
Village officials voted to address Dolton’s deficit — estimated at $2.8 million this year — and approved steps to end several high-profile car leasing deals.
She has been shrouded in controversy, including being evicted from her home because she owed more than $3,300 in rent payments.
She also threw an $85,000 party for her city in September, even though the state denied her any expenses because she had put her city in debt.
The event cost approximately $50,000 in taxpayer money to cover performances and more than $35,000 in activities, equipment and staff.

She is known for her lavish spending, including throwing an $85,000 party for her town in September, even though she has been barred from spending by the state for putting her town in debt
In August, the Illinois State Comptroller cut off funding to Dolton after Henyard failed to provide financial reports for the use of approximately $135,000.
Susana Mendoza, the comptroller, threatened to fine the city $78,600 if Henyard did not turn over the reports.
The self-described “super mayor” has a history of absurd spending habits involving misuse of the city’s funding, leaving the town $5 million in debt.
The Democrat was elected in 2021 and is Dolton’s first female mayor.
