Tia Mowry admitted that her twin sister, Tamera Mowry, “isn’t as approachable” as she used to be, but clarified that “everything is fine” between the two.

The Sister, Sister actress, 46, who recently denied there was a rift between the siblings, opened up to Entertainment tonight on Friday about their relationship.

It comes shortly after her comments on the new reality series, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, where she said she and Tamera weren’t “close.” However, he later clarified that he was simply referring to the physical distance between them.

‘She is a mother. Her children need her. She is also a wife. “Her husband needs her,” the star said of Tamera.

‘So she’s not as approachable as she used to be. So I’m comparing it to what it used to be. But yesterday, literally, I talked to her.

Tia continued: ‘Everything is fine. I’m going to say what my cousin says, everything is fine. Period,” adding that his brother is simply “in a different place” in his life.

‘She’s doing her thing and I’m doing mine. It’s the same with my brother. We were making movies together, Seventeen Again,’ the actress explained, referring to the 2000 film.

“I think the reason people tend to go there is because our careers started together,” Mowry said.

‘But like any brother, everyone does their own thing and you want them to do it. You want them to be individuals and fly alone. So there’s nothing harmful about any of that.

Tia and Tamera are known for starring in the comedy series Sister, Sister, which aired from 1994 to 1999.

The couple worked together on other projects, such as the film Twitches (2005), as well as its sequel two years later.

In 2011, the twin sisters starred in their own reality show called Tia and Tamera, which aired for a total of three seasons.

On Tia’s own reality show, which began airing earlier this month in October, she commented on her relationship with Tamera.

'So she's not as approachable as she used to be. So I'm comparing it to what it used to be. But yesterday, literally, I talked to her,' said the actress; seen in Los Angeles in 2023

Tia is mother to Cree, 13, and Cairo, six, whom she shares with ex-husband Cory Hardrict.

A clip from one episode showed the star having an emotional moment after leaving her youngest son with Hardrict.

During a confessional, the actress expressed, ‘Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce.’

‘At times like this I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her. But that’s not the case right now.”

However, late last month in September, Tia clarified to Us weekly which was talking about the physical distance between her and Tamera.

“You could hear it from me, and this is basically what I was implying: I feel like as we grow up, we all form our own families and their children need to lean on them.”

Mowry continued: ‘We begin to take on new roles and responsibilities in our lives. That’s what it was all about.

‘In these life transitions, sometimes you just want a hug and you just want someone to be as approachable as they used to be, and that’s not the case. It’s called life.’

‘I love my sister very much. She loves me very much. We have a closeness and a beautiful connection,” Tia added.

But that’s what it was about. That’s how life develops and it happens in many families.’

As for the reaction to her comments, Tia simply explained that it was “taken out of context” and also “not surprising.”

“When you’ve been in this industry for over 30 years, things are always taken out of context and it is what it is.”

‘The only thing I can do is control my behaviors and be the best person I can be, and that’s what we both are. We are incredible and inspiring examples, and have been our entire lives. So why change that now?

And earlier this month, Tia further denied that there is a rift between the siblings during an interview on Today with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Hager while promoting his new reality series We TV.

“I’ve been in this industry for a long time and I know some things can be taken out of context, so it is what it is.”

“As siblings, it’s very normal that as we grow up we take on different roles and responsibilities,” Mowry added.

‘Some of those roles are being married and being a mother. Her children lean on her. My kids lean on me and that’s what I meant by that. That we’re just not that close.

Tamera is also the mother of two children: Aden, 11, and Ariah, nine, whom she shares with her husband Adam Housley.

Tia explained: ‘We don’t live in the same city and the same thing happens to my brother. He lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

“There is a bond that will always exist, and there is so much love for each other and each other, so I feel for everyone.”
