Avid Trump supporter Alfie Oakes claimed “everything is fine” after federal agents raided his home and packing plant in Florida.
Multiple agencies, including the Secret Service, the IRS and the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, raided the 56-year-old farmer’s properties during an undisclosed investigation.
Agents were seen wearing gloves, carrying papers and boxes in and out of the garage of his Naples home as they conducted the search, and at least 18 unmarked government vehicles arrived at his Immokalee warehouse.
But despite the chaotic scenes, the conservative influencer didn’t seem concerned about the ambush, telling WINK: ‘Everything is fine. Go Trump!’
He then sped away in his bold blue Range Rover with “Trump 2024” plastered on the side.
This investigation comes as Oakes owes $2.8 million to Farm Credit of Florida.
Federal agents invaded their properties but the reason for their search is unknown.
He also revealed that he was not sure why authorities came to his properties, but did not express concern.
The agents present at the scene did not provide much clarity to the situation.
The Secret Service told WINK: “We cannot comment because the US Secret Service will not confirm the existence or status of an investigation.”
The IRS and the Defense Criminal Investigative Service said they were investigating “official matters.”
The searches lasted about five hours, WINK reported. The Florida Highway Patrol was also at both investigation sites.
Oakes drove off in his Trump-themed Range Rover after a reporter tried to talk to him.
One passenger covered his face to avoid being interviewed as Oakes said “come on Trump” when asked what he had to say about the situation.
Oakes is the owner of Oakes Farms and the Seed to Table grocery store. While the reason for the investigation is unknown, Oakes’ clients are intrigued.
‘I mean, the IRS doesn’t do things impetuously. It’s pretty calculated, so hopefully it will be fixed,” Seed to Table customer William Whittaker told WINK.
John Meo, chairman of the Collier County Republican Executive Committee, shared his thoughts on the raid with Naples Daily News.
“We know that they showed up and took some material,” he told the outlet. ‘It’s kind of funny that they’re doing it now. I think they want to get information on January 6th.
In 2021, Oakes paid for two buses of Trump supporters to go to the insurrection.
Although no official connection has been made, this raid comes as a lawsuit against Oakes accused him of failing to pay about $2.8 million in loans, according to NBC.
The lawsuit was filed in October and alleges the farmer obtained two loans from Farm Credit of Florida, totaling about $4.5 million.
The documents stated that if the alleged debt was not paid, Florida Farm Credit had the right to seize Oakes’ property, according to reports.
At least 18 federal vehicles showed up at the Oakes packing plant to investigate
Federal agents raided the home and warehouse of conservative influencer and farmer Alfie Oakes, 56, on Thursday.
In 2021, Seed to Table came under fire when images emerged of the store filled with maskless shoppers during the devastating pandemic.
Even though the county had a mask mandate, the store had a sign out front indicating that customers did not need to wear face coverings.
Oakes said his reasoning behind his store’s mask policy is that he didn’t believe they did anything to stop the spread of COVID-19.
He referred to the pandemic as “nonsense.”
