Three teenagers arrested when driver, 16, allegedly punched and headbutted a police officer after hitting three cars outside popular Sydney nightclub

  • All vehicles sustained significant damage, but the taxi driver was uninjured

Three teens have been arrested after the car they were in reportedly collided with three other vehicles and the driver allegedly punched a police officer.

Police reportedly saw the stolen Mazda CX-5 station wagon making an illegal exit onto Pacific Highway outside the Crows Nest Hotel, on Sydney’s north coast, on Friday night.

Officers activated warning lights that wanted to talk to the 16-year-old driver, but the car reportedly turned sharply across two lanes, collided with a taxi, before colliding with two parked cars.

All vehicles sustained significant damage, but thexi driver escaped injury.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy, allegedly punched and headbutted an officer before being arrested.

Two girls, both 17 years old, were arrested at the scene and taken with the boy to Chatswood Police Station.

The Mazda was reported stolen on Friday from a Lindfield home.

The boy was charged with assault and a series of traffic violations. He was denied bail and will appear in Parramatta Children’s Court on Sunday.

The first girl was charged with traveling in the stolen car and violating bail conditions. She was denied bail and will appear in Parramatta Children’s Court tomorrow.

The second was entrusted with carriage in carriage without the owner’s permission. She was granted conditional bail and will appear before the Surry Hills Children’s Court on Tuesday.
