Both cars drove away from the scene, but the alleged traffic accident came to a head when the cars collided at the Macauley Street intersection.

The cars collided a second time before the black ute sped off.

The three occupants of the white vehicle – aged 21, 33 and 44 – rushed to Bankstown police station where they reported the incident.

As they left the police station at 9:30 pm and drove back past the crime scene, they claimed the same black car was waiting and a third collision occurred.

Police subsequently received multiple triple-0 calls reporting that three people were attacked by up to eight people in the vicinity of Restwell Street.

Officers arrived within minutes, but the group had disappeared.

Paramedics treated the three people from the white ute for minor injuries.

While the investigation continues, police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident – or available mobile phone or dashcam footage – to contact Bankstown Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
