A man was hit with a hammer after a road rage incident outside the Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast.

Queensland Police said that after the crash, a fight broke out between those involved and a man was hit on the head with a hammer.

He was taken to hospital for treatment for a head injury, along with two other people, all in stable condition.

Photos from the scene showed a black Holden Commodore that had crashed into a brick wall at the park entrance.

Police said the alleged attacker fled the scene after the attack and is still at large.

They are asking anyone who has dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage of the incident to come forward.

“We would like to clarify that no Dreamworld guests were involved in this incident,” Dreamworld said in a statement.

Dreamworld is Australia’s largest theme park, with more than 40 attractions.
