Threads now lets you quote posts on the web


To cite a post, simply click on the two arrows icon and then click on the “cite” option.

Mosseri also said that Threads users on mobile devices can follow a thread and receive notifications about it. Apparently this feature hasn’t been implemented for me on iOS (I can’t find it), but I hope to have it soon.

These may seem like incremental features, but even the small features help make Threads seem like a suitable alternative to X (formerly Twitter). That said, X still seems much more alive to me; Threads has a ways to go to capture the immediacy that X/Twitter is famous for. (Not forcing the feed would help a lot!)
