Meta’s developing edit button for Threads could let you edit posts within five minutes of being published, as reported by developer Alessandro Paluzzi at X (formerly Twitter). Instagram boss Adam Mosseri confirmed shortly after the app launched in July that there was an edit button. on the list of potential featuresand now that Paluzzi has uncovered some details about it, perhaps the feature will be more widely available soon.
An edit button is one of the things I think is most missing from Threads, so I’m glad to see this shred of evidence that Meta might be closer to releasing it. Meta didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment when I asked for details on the possible timing, but I’m also optimistic that we’ll see the edit button sooner rather than later. In the two months since the app launched, Meta has created low-hanging fruit like a followers feed, a web client, and the ability to search for posts.
