Thousands of new toys will be auctioned off from just $1 days before Christmas, as a major toy retailer exits the Australian market.
KidKraft will auction off $800,000 worth of leftover toys and furniture after announcing they will close all of their Australian warehouses.
The retailer said “everything should work” when the auction begins at 2pm AEST on Saturday and customers will have access to an online portal.
Prices will start at $1 and there will be no backup stock or reserves.
Lloyds Auctions will manage the online liquidation sale, which will include separate auctions for the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Over $800,000 in stock will be up for auction and the full list of items can be viewed at Lloyd’s Auctions website.
“LLOYDS AUCTIONS HAS STRICT INSTRUCTIONS TO SELL EVERYTHING IN THE SHOWROOM AND WAREHOUSE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE,” he says.
The liquidation auction will feature thousands of new items, including premium games, dollhouses and a variety of other toys perfect for Christmas gifts.
KidKraft has announced it will auction all of its Australian shares on Saturday.
Prices for more than 8,000 items start at $1 and there will be no reservations.
Lloyds Auctions boss Lee Hames said the auction was a “unique opportunity”.
‘“All items are new and perfect for last minute Christmas gifts,” said Mr Hames.
“There are more than 4,200 premium items up for auction, giving families the opportunity to own these products at a fraction of the retail price.”
All items will be new and remain sealed in their original boxes as the toy maker looks to shut down operations after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May.
Any lucky parents who can score a bargain can pick up their items at Lloyds locations in Melbourne, Sydney and South East Queensland.
KidKraft was founded in the USA in 1968 and has since earned a reputation for its toys, play kitchens, doll houses and outdoor games.
