Thor: Love and Thunder Sydney premiere: Chris Hemsworth rubs shoulder with reality TV has-beens
Chris Hemsworth’s new blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder is bursting with A-list talent, including Natalie Portman, Matt Damon and Melissa McCarthy.
Still, the film’s Sydney premiere was more like a guess who? like a hodgepodge of D-list celebrities, they competed for attention on the red carpet.
While the red carpet was once a place reserved for leading actors and directors, Monday night’s screening saw bizarrely bona fide celebrities like Hemsworth rubbing shoulders with obscure reality TV footage.

Perhaps the most mind-boggling appearance was that of ex-Married At First Sight star Nasser Sultan, who spent the past four years unsuccessfully chasing superstars.
In mind-boggling scenes, Sultan was spotted trying to converse with former TV newscaster Jessica Rowe, a respected journalist and household name.
Other one-time reality stars seen on the red carpet include Big Brother roommates Aisha Jade and Chad Hurst, Dancing with the Stars alum Christian Wilkins and Bachelor rejects Bella Varelis and Brittany Hockley.

Bella’s friend Will Stokoe, a photographer and minor influencer, was seen walking the red carpet in a casual tracksuit and beanie – just feet away from the pair of well-fitting Hollywood stars.
Only a handful of true A-listers were spotted among the sea of low-tier “celebrities” at Monday’s premiere, including Thor director Taika Waititi.
Hemsworth attended with his wife, Spanish model and actress Elsa Pataky, as well as their eight-year-old twin sons, Tristan and Sasha.

They were joined by Chris’ brother Luke Hemsworth, who is known for starring on the TV show Westworld, as well as Luke’s wife, Samantha, and their children.
Many of the film’s stars did not attend the Sydney premiere, including lead actress Natalie Portman, who reprises her role as Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Chris Pratt and Melissa McCarthy also failed to show.

In the fourth Thor film, the titular hammer-wielding superhero takes on the villainous Gorr the God Butcher, played by Bale.
The film is set in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, in which Thor (Hemsworth) abdicated as king of Asgard and joined the Guardians of the Galaxy.
He enlists the help of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), and other friends to fight Gorr.
