The babysitter of the eight-year-old autistic boy who died of hypothermia after being beaten and left overnight in a garage by his “offending” father of the NYPD agent, says the child was verbally and physically abused.
Nanny Amanda Wildman looked after the children of 15-year-old veteran police officer Michael Valva, 40, who lived on Long Island with his fiancé Angelina Pollina, 42.
Valva had three sons from a previous marriage and Pollina had three daughters and they tried to imagine themselves as a happy family like The Brady Bunch, Wildman claims.
On Friday, Valva and Pollina were accused of second-degree murder for the death of Valva’s son Thomas, who died on January 17 after allegedly starving, beaten and locked up outside the house in freezing temperatures.
Wildman worked from the Valva family from 2017 to 2018 and revealed in one Dr. Oz show interview that she aired Wednesday that she saw the boys in the family were exposed to intense verbal abuse and brainwashed to hate their biological mother.
Amanda Wildman, a babysitter for Thomas Valva and his siblings in 2017 to 2018, claimed that she saw verbal and physical violence in Valva’s household on Long Island
“They were, you know that everyone says more to the boys than the girls, but they were all verbally violent. They were all verbally abused, “Wildman explains. Oz in an interview to air on Wednesday. She claims once that she saw bite marks on Thomas
“What did you observe in your time with Thomas and the rest of the children that made you alarming?” Oz asks in an exclusive clip shared with DailyMail.com.
“They were, you know that everyone says more to the boys than the girls, but they were all verbally violent. They were all verbally abused, “she said.
She claims that Pollina was the big abuser in the house who punished the children for small things such as not eating their food. The children would be told to sit on the couch and stay there even if they had to use the toilet.
“If they didn’t finish their food or were caught throwing their food away, they got into trouble and were told they should sit on the couch and only get up when she said so, said Wildman.
“She said to them,” I don’t care if you have to go to the toilet, you have to stay on that couch until they say otherwise. “
When asked if she ever saw the children injured, Wildman said, “I did it.”
She revealed that the boys had been brainwashed to hate their biological mother Justyna Zubko-Valva and blame her for the abuse they had suffered.
“I watched Thomas tell me a story that Justyna’s grandfather had bit him. I had seen the bite mark and now that I look back on the videos and everything everyone posts, you can see it – you could hear Mike singing in the car: “We love Daddy. We love Angela.” You know, “We hate mommy.”
“So it is as if what has been struck in their head is struck so badly that they told me like graphic stories. And I met Justyna. She is such a wonderful lady. It is so … I wish we could have made contact before this all happened. I wish I somehow knew she was fighting, “she said.
Last month, eight-year-old autistic boy Thomas Valva died of hypothermia after his parents forced him to sleep at night in a garage at temperatures below zero
His father NYPD agent Michael Valva (40) and his fiancé Angelina Pollina are confronted with second-degree murder for the death of Thomas. They lived with their children on Long Island
Wildman warned the public not to trust Pollina, who portrayed her husband as the great abuser in the family, although she is also being investigated for abuse.
“When I was there, it was almost the opposite … And you know it’s funny because she’s trying to portray herself as this victim of Mike. In the meantime, she was the runner of everything, “Wildman explained.
“Like everything she said she was doing, Mike followed in her footsteps,” Wildman added.
Now Pollina and Valva face second-degree murder for the death of their son Thomas, “because they have committed behaviors that entail a serious risk of death for this child,” Suffolk County police chief Geraldine Hart told reporters at a press conference.
They forced the child to sleep in the garage in freezing cold 19-degree weather, researchers said.
Valva called the police on the morning of January 17 and claimed that his son fell into the driveway while he waited for the school bus, hit his head, and passed out.
When the police arrived, the boy’s body temperature was only 76 degrees. He was transported to a hospital and declared dead.
Valva and Pollina lived together with their six combined children. Thomas, a six-year-old boy, a 10-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl twin and an eight-year-old daughter, say the authorities.
All five of those children have been detained by Child Protective Services.
Hart said researchers believe that Thomas and his 10-year-old brother were subjected to severe penalties, including “food shortage and exposure to extremely cold temperatures.”

“We are still investigating the extent of the abuse and whether it extends to all children,” Hart said.
At the time of Thomas’ death, he and his brothers lived with their father after he got custody of the children in 2017 after a heated battle in court.
Wildman said she knew that Child Protective Services were involved with the family. Valva told her it was because their mother was insulting.
Justyna Zubko-Valva, the biological mother of Thomas, repeatedly fought for custody of the three boys and warned that Valva was abusing
In the months prior to Thomas’ death, 17 calls were made to a reporting point for child abuse about the boys, according to reports from the New York Post.
Thomas worried teachers had called a state abuse reporting center about 20 times that he and his 10-year-old brother Anthony came to school hungry and had signs of physical abuse. In one case, the boys brought backpacks soaked with urine to school.
Child Protective Services visited Valva’s house three times from 2018 to 2019.
Valva has been suspended from the police because of the allegations and allegations and there is an investigation into the abuse in Suffolk County.
