Thomas Tuchel admits certain Chelsea players ‘might want to leave the club’ this summer after borrowing last season and with several senior stars short on playing time
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted that certain members of his team may want to leave the club this summer.
The European champions have a number of players who have returned from loan spells, and others who may want to go elsewhere after struggling for game time last season.
Tuchel will give everyone a chance but will have to make some big decisions before the summer transfer window closes on August 31.

Ruben Lofuts-Cheek and Ross Barkley are among those returning from rental periods
When asked about the large group he owns of returning loan stars, he told the Blues’ official website: ‘I’ve never had that.
“That was new, I wasn’t afraid of it, but I was curious what the mentality is like, because remember, some of them leave their families, some want to stay in their loan club, some of them don’t have that option.
“Some have already done two or three preseasons here. Some of them definitely want to seek the opportunity to stay, some of them may want to leave. They are humans, they are not robots and so we have to accept that it is not the easiest situation for them either.
“But what I’ve experienced every day is the opposite: it’s a very positive group, hardworking, eager to learn, hungry in every training session and ready to go.
“It’s such a good mix with the five or six guys who have been here with us for the past six months. I’m absolutely happy because it’s so much easier than I thought, it’s so easy and so much fun being the coach of these guys.
“There are opportunities for all of us and this group deserves our full attention, and they understand it.
Tammy Abraham struggled for playing time at Chelsea and is linked with a move
Davide Zappacosta and Tiemoue Bakayoko are also back from rental periods
“I don’t judge where you come from or what your history is or what you earn or what your status is. I’m in charge of this group, so they get my 100 percent.
“I give my all, they give it back, they make me laugh, I give even more, that makes them laugh, they give even more.”
There is speculation about a number of players and their futures at the club, most notably Tammy Abraham, who has been linked to Arsenal, West Ham and Aston Villa.
Players like Ross Barkley, Ruben-Loftus Cheek, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Davide Zappacosta have returned from loan spells and may find it difficult to rejoin the herd at Stamford Bridge.
