EXCLUSIVE: Thomas Markle Jr was set to face Katie Hopkins on Big Brother VIP as it was revealed he was NOT drafted as a replacement
For weeks, there has been speculation that Thomas Markle Jr was a last-minute addition to the Big Brother VIP cast to replace far-right British columnist Katie Hopkins.
But Daily Mail Australia can now reveal that Meghan’s 55-year-old half-brother, Duchess of Sussex, has always been part of the show’s original lineup.
“Thomas had already started his mandatory hotel quarantine when Katie was expelled from the country for threatening to break the rules,” said a well-placed insider.

“There were no ‘replacements’. They knew having Tom and Katie with Caitlyn Jenner would always be pure entertainment,” she added.
According to the source, Thomas had already had a week of hotel quarantine by then New idea reported that he had just arrived in the country.
The Oregon window mechanic has now returned to the US after spending more than a month in Australia filming the upcoming reality show Seven.

Markle has reportedly flown back of his own accord, despite his visa still being valid for several months, due to the restrictions currently in place in NSW.
His return to America came just days after he joked that he loved Australia so much that he “planned to hide from immigration.”
“Tom Markle is coming to you live from the backyard of the Big Brother VIP hotel, you know, where the rations are getting a little low, so he’s letting us run out here in the ocean and get her own food,” he said. in a beachside clip on Instagram.

“Actually, I think I’m going to hide from immigration and not go home,” he added with a laugh.
The decision to grant him a visa sparked controversy at the time as thousands of Aussie citizens were left stranded abroad due to the Covid border closures.
Hopkins, 46, had been deported from Australia halfway through her mandatory hotel quarantine before appearing on the show.
After complaining about the quarantine system and bragging about breaking the rules, she was taken to the airport and put on a flight back to England.
Australia has enforced strict border closures since the start of the pandemic, with tickets to the country being rationed and all arrivals forced to undergo mandatory 14-day quarantine in their city of arrival, along with repeated tests before being admitted.
