The landlord of Thomas Markel Jr. said that he was deported for non-payment of rent and that he had left the house in ruins
Meghan Markle's brother clapped back to his displeased landlord. Branding claims he is a nightmare tenant & # 39; rude & # 39; and & # 39; ridiculous & # 39; used to be.
Paul Walter told DailyMailTV that Tom Markle Jr. left the house from which he apparently had been driven into a & # 39; disgusting & # 39; state that the landlord costs $ 4500 to repair.
Walter shared photos of the bungalow he had taken during the inspection after Markle, 52, and his fiancée Darlene Blount, 37, had moved.
He detailed a litany of problems, including a burnt stove, destroyed grass, holes in the wall, urine stains, and said he left a rotting bagel and other food in the oven where it had been for months.
But defend themselves. Markle hit back and provided his own selection of photos showing that he left the property in Grants Pass, Oregon in flawless condition.
& # 39; Paul Walter is rude, childish and unreasonable, he must look at himself before tearing up other people, & # 39; said Markle.
& # 39; His claims are ridiculous, we left that place in excellent condition and did everything we could to make sure there were no problems, because we know what he is like.
& # 39; And then he goes to the media that picks up small things, it's childish behavior to make me look bad. & # 39;
Markle has now returned to his landlord by delivering his own photos to DailyMailTV, showing the kitchen of the house and various other rooms in flawless condition
The kitchen looks spotless with clean counter tops and no trace of the rotting food on the floor in the photos Markle took before they went out
The bathroom in the Grant Pass, Oregon, bungalow seems hygienic and in clean condition. Markle calls the claims of his landlord & # 39; rude & # 39; and & # 39; ridiculous & # 39;
Markle says that Walter tried to expel him when a health condition he suffered last year meant that he could not work and that he was lagging behind in his rent.
Owner Paul Walter said Markle and his fiancée, Darlene Blount, left $ 4,500 in damage to the house when they were evicted
& # 39; I paid him some money in January when he asked, but then he really got irritated and changed completely, & # 39; said Markle.
& # 39; He has plotted me an expulsion of thirty to sixty years. He said you can't live there without a job, but he can't just do that, tenants have rights. & # 39;
Markle says he got a lawyer and that they are ultimately out of court, but, he says, Walter was not happy with the end result.
& # 39; From my lawyer to their lawyer, they lost the case and that is why Paul was annoyed, I had to pay $ 500 on April 5 and agree to leave the property, which I did.
& # 39; That was the end of the discussion, there was no eviction, nothing.
& # 39; Then he runs away and tells this great story about how I owe him $ 4,500, I am a freeloader, this and that. He should not have signed the agreement if he was not happy with it. & # 39;
In photos provided by Markle, the house appears to have been left in a clean and tidy condition.
The kitchen appears spotless with clean counter tops and no trace of discarded food on the floor.
Markle says the burner rings on the stove were in fact rust that was impossible to scrub away and claims the rotten food in the image Walter gave to DailyMailTV material that had been behind the stove for years.
& # 39; He dragged out all that stuff to make it look bad, to make me look bad, & # 39; he said.
& # 39; This is stuff that had fallen over the back of the oven over the years, there was even a dog chewed by the previous tenant in the photo.
& # 39; None of that was there or visible when we left. He can't drag it all away and claim that I left a mess behind. & # 39;
The 52-year-old was accused of not paying three months' rent at the bungalow (photo) in Grants Pass, Oregon. The market interest rate for the property is $ 1500 per month, which means that Markle would owe $ 4,500
The photos & # 39; s by Walter show that the couple left the house with rotting food left under the oven, but Markle claims that Walter had taken all those things to make it look bad, to make me look bad to show. These are things that have fallen over the back of the oven over the years
There was one wall with a hole in it, but Markle blames Walter for saying that there was no door stop, so the door handle hit the wall
The oven door of the bungalow remained behind with caked brown spots in Walter's photo, but Markle says this is typical wear that landlords can expect
The stove was burned with black and brown spots when Markle and Blount were reportedly driven out. Markle says that the burner rings on the stove were in fact rust that was impossible to scrub
Markle says that a hole in the wall that Walter had indicated came from a door handle that landed on the patch because no plug was installed.
As for Walker's claim, Markle had his dog urinate on a wall in the house, giving the plaster a yellow and brown color.
& # 39; That's ridiculous, I found black mold there when we brought our stuff outside, I have a photo to prove it, & # 39; said Markle.
& # 39; I've been bleaching it over and over to try and clean it up before we left, but there was still a stain.
& # 39; Nevertheless, as a tenant, mold should not be my responsibility.
& # 39; All these claims are so small that a landlord expects some wear and tear. & # 39;
Walter shared a picture of a white carpet in the living room that seemed to have a big stain on it.
Markle also laughed at this.
& # 39; Come on, it was 12 year old white carpeting in a rental home that already had some red wine stains from previous tenants, I have a very good vacuum cleaner and we have done our best to clean it up, like a landlord you must have expected these things, it's wear. & # 39;
Markle also referred back to Walter & # 39; s moaning about the worn piece of grass in the yard.
He said the landlord was fully aware of the pool they had and he didn't even complain.
Markle & # 39; s inflatable pool in the backyard ruined most of the grass and left behind a 15ft wide strip that needed to be replaced, says his former landlord. However, Markle claims that Walter and his wife had no problems with the pool when they came for a home inspection last year
Markle admitted that he could no longer throw the two tires left at the side of the fence from the trucks he and Blount were driving
Walter believes that the stain on the wall (right) was caused by Markle's dog. But Markle says it was originally mold (left) that he was trying to clean himself with bleach
Markle says that he and his fiancée did our best & # 39; to clean up the stains of & # 39; 12 year old white floor coverings in a rental home & # 39 ;, add: & # 39; As a landlord you should expect these things, it's wear & # 39;
The inside of the refrigerator and freezer appear to be clean in the photos Markle provided to DailyMailTV. He said during his stay in the house that he asked Walter to solve various things and had to repair them himself
& # 39; It was a portable, 12ft disposable swimming pool, but it was never a problem, the landlord had no problems with it and the gardener had no problems with it & # 39 ;, Markle explained.
Markle is fighting in a boxing match for celebrities. & # 39; Maybe Paul could be my next opponent in the Celebrity Boxing ring, & # 39; Markle said about his landlord
& # 39; Paul and his wife came for a half-yearly inspection in July last year and saw it with their own eyes, they didn't care, the house was in excellent condition in which they were happy.
& # 39; We have the swimming pool because it gets up to more than 100 degrees in the summer.
& # 39; The gardener even told me that he would just throw grass seed away after it was gone, so there was no problem at all. & # 39;
Markle says that during the 18 months he spent in the building, he repaired the oven when he went out, repaired two windows in the bedroom at cost, repaired broken lights, and bought a new microwave when the existing one broke.
& # 39; Of course he mentions none of that, & # 39; he said. & # 39; I asked for different things to be resolved and they have never been, I had to do it myself. & # 39;
However, the window fitter admits that he had accidentally left two truck tires behind a hedge in the garden.
& # 39; Yes, that's my bad one, we just forgot about them, & # 39 ;, said Markle, who is going to fight in June in a Celebrity Boxing match against Henry & # 39; Nacho & # 39; Laun.
& # 39; But the rest … come on, it's all so ridiculous. & # 39;
He added: & # 39; Maybe Paul could be my next opponent in the Celebrity Boxing ring. & # 39;
Walter estimated that it will cost $ 4,500 to do repairs to the house, but says Markle has only left a $ 500 deposit for the property.
Markle called the claims of his former landlord & # 39; so small & # 39; and to prove it, he shared this photo of a clean shower
Markle also claims that he has not been evicted and says he has paid $ 500 in a settlement and agreed to leave the property as of April 5
The garage also appears to be in good condition, with minimal items left by Markle and Blount
The case came to court last month after Walter Markle sent a message on February 8 that he had 72 hours to pay $ 1,575 or leave the house.
That led to a hearing on March 4 at the Josephine County Court, where the judge asked both parties if they wanted a lawsuit.
The judge told the two parties to talk to & # 39; work something out & # 39; what they did and according to the approved agreement, Walter had to pay $ 83 and Markle had to pay $ 84.50, but not the outstanding rent.
Walter told DailyMailTV on Tuesday: & # 39; I'm just glad he's gone. Tidy is neat. We will have to be careful the next time we rent it out. & # 39;
He added: & # 39; The most disappointing is that he got a few extra months because we made a small mistake on one of the forms we sent him.
& # 39; His lawyer has therefore been given some extra time at home. & # 39;
Markle is Meghan & # 39; s half-brother and they share the same father, Thomas Markle Sr., 73.
He lived in the building for about 18 months after moving with his fiancé from a cabin in the woods.
