Royal fans have taken to social media to express their grief and send their condolences following the sudden death of Thomas Kingston, husband of Lady Gabriella Windsor.
Buckingham Palace announced Kingston’s death at the age of 45 on Tuesday evening, sharing that the financier was found dead at an address in Gloucestershire on Sunday, with emergency services arriving at the scene shortly after 6. pm.
Since the Palace’s announcement, several supporters have posted emotional messages of support on both X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram.
One person wrote on X: ‘Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Thomas Kingston. May your sleep be peaceful and serene. Our deepest condolences to Lady Gabriella Windsor, all her family and friends at this devastating time. Her wedding, like the beautiful couple, was a dream.’

A royal Instagram fan account called ‘themountbattenwindsors’, which has 83,400 followers, also posted a message, which was accompanied by a photograph of Lady Gabriella and Mr Kingston from their 2019 wedding.
The post repeated the news of Mr Kingston’s death and ended: “My thoughts and prayers are with Lady Gabriella and the rest of the Thomas family.”
It got more than 1,000 likes and almost 60 comments in just two hours.
One person recalled that the couple had gotten married just a few years ago, writing, “Didn’t they get married very recently?” This is so sad!! My thoughts and prayers for the family!’
Another commented: ‘So sorry to hear…so sad. “Our love goes out to the royal family, but especially to Gabriella, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Lord and Lady Frederick Winsdor and Maud and Isabella.”
Maud and Isabella are daughters of Lady Gabriella’s brother, Lord Frederick, and his wife Sophie Winkleman.

Lady Gabriella paid tribute to her financier husband in a joint statement with her family, describing him as an “exceptional man who illuminated the lives of all who knew him”. His tragic death was described as “a huge shock to the whole family”.
An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of death, but there are no suspicious circumstances or other parties involved.
A statement on behalf of Lady Gabriella Kingston and Mr Kingston’s family read: “It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother.
‘Tom was an exceptional man who illuminated the lives of all who knew him. His death has been a great shock to the entire family and we ask that you respect our privacy as we mourn his passing.
King Charles and Queen Camilla have sent their “deepest thoughts and prayers” to Lady Kingston and Mr Kingston’s family.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “The King and Queen have been informed of Thomas’ death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in mourning a much-loved member of the family. “.
“In particular, Their Majesties send their deepest thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and the entire Kingston family.”

Another royal fan account offered condolences to the family following Buckingham Palace’s announcement on Tuesday night.
Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, parents of Lady Gabriella, attended a memorial service at St George’s Chapel for King Constantine of Greece today.
Prince Michael was the late Queen Elizabeth’s first cousin through his parents.
It is understood that Prince William’s absence from today’s funeral was not related to Mr Kingston’s death.
Kensington Palace had revealed earlier that day that the Prince of Wales had withdrawn from the memorial service due to a personal matter.
Lady Gabriella, known as Ella to her friends, and her late husband were married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in 2019.
The wedding reception was held at Frogmore House, the former residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Lady Gabriella is not an active member of the Royal Family and performs no public duties.
Kingston, known as Tom, had been a director of Devonport Capital since 2017.
