A one-of-a-kind home near a remote Australian town looks like it was pulled from the Mexican desert with a colorful facade and exterior inspired by the Central American country.

The desert oasis lies 10km south of Alice Springs, in the suburb of Ross, at the foot of the MacDonnell Ranges, on a vast 5.7-acre cactus-covered block.

Outside, the original home features a hacienda-style exterior with earthy stucco rendering, an ornate wooden front door, a flat roof and wood detailing.

The theme continues inside as each room is a colorful display filled with original Mexican trinkets, from sombreros on the wall to macrame wall hangings.

Upon entering the home, guests are greeted with high ceilings and terracotta tiled floors in the entryway which opens into a formal dining room overlooking the desert gardens outside.

Ross hasn’t made enough sales in the past year, so the median house price for the area can’t be determined, but in Alice Springs it sits at $515,000.
