As I’m scrolling through my Twitter feed, I stumble upon the following scene:
A character with a jetpack and space gear rushes towards a hangar in the third-person perspective. The camera zooms in, suddenly switches to the ego view, and a thick sci-fi gun is pulled out. Robot guards rush in and are immediately expertly dismantled. Boom!
But see for yourself:

The developer behind the project writes: »Why can you seamlessly go from spaceship to jetpack and land on a space station? Because it’s cool!«
And I agree: the whole thing only lasts eight seconds, but I watch the clip over and over again and just think: I need to know more about this immediately! And of course reporting to you is clear.
What kind of game is this?
The scene is from an early version of the Hyperspace game, with the name still a placeholder. Here’s what we know so far:
- co-op: A team of up to four players explore space and fight together against the AI, so this is a pure PvE game.
- Crew: Together you man and organize a ship. Space combat, manning guns, and managing power supplies are all part of the job.
- Exploration: Your crew can board discovered wrecks, stations, etc., move freely there and find puzzles, crafting components, but also enemies.
- Story: By acting in a coordinated manner as a team and successfully completing foreign locations, you advance the progress of the story that is at the heart of it.
Here are some pictures from the game:

Which developer is behind it?
Hyperspace is created by Keepsake Games, a five-person studio in Stockholm. At the helm is Daniel Kaplan, a founding member of Minecraft developer Mojang and founder of publisher Coffee Stain (Valheim, Satisfactory, Goat Simulator).
Kaplan brings together a team with experience from well-known projects including Mirror’s Edge, A Way Out and It Takes Two. But: Hyperspace is currently still in an early phase, even the name is not final yet, a Steam shop page is to be created soon.
What do you think of the scenes and the co-op concept of this sci-fi game? Will you put the title on the watch list? Let us know what you think of this Twitter find in the comments!
