Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard have revealed how fresh-faced they look despite having started early as presenters of This Morning.

They have only presented the ITV breakfast show together for five months, but the pair have become so close they share eye patches.

Shephard, 49, said: “As I approach my 50th birthday, I’ve really stepped up my skincare routine. And Cat is actually amazing, and being able to share the under-eye patches with you has been a great moment.”

The presenter said he introduced the popular treatment into his morning regimen to “reduce puffiness” around his eyes before going on air.

Deeley, 47, added: “We’re very open about it. I use mine in the car when I come over. You use yours when you arrive. Suddenly, we’re 27.”

The This Morning presenters revealed they swap beauty treatments, with Ben praising Cat’s “brilliant” beauty tips in a new interview ahead of his return to host a new series of the magazine show on September 2.

While Ben has been more than happy to take advice from Cat when it comes to anti-aging treatments, Cat looks to her co-star for advice when it comes to parenting.

“We both have kids and we share parenting advice,” Cat said. “Because he has two kids that are obviously a lot older than mine, but I feel like he’s been through it before.”

‘Sometimes when I get worried about something – I have a tendency to worry too much and overthink things – he’ll always say to me, ‘Deeley, it’s going to be okay. How about a little bit of this and a little bit of that? And if all else fails, talk to Annie (Shephard’s wife), she’ll clear things up for you. ‘

To celebrate their return to the ITV morning show, which reaches 4 million viewers each week, the pair took part in an epic promotional photo shoot alongside Friday’s presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Behind-the-scenes footage shows the four stars scaling the 45-foot height of London’s Television Centre on a platform lift before reaching the roof of the iconic building.

Deeley added: “It’s definitely been a learning experience because I haven’t really done a show like this.”

“I’ve done more types of entertainment, glossy floor shows. And they’ve never been daily and full of different themes and subjects like this. I’ve done a lot of live television, but with This Morning I had to get used to the rollercoaster ride a bit.”

Meanwhile, Ben revealed to MailOnline that he made his debut on the show hungover (pictured during his first show).

Reflecting on her debut, she said: “I actually can’t believe it’s been almost six months. I mean, I know we started in March, but that was a bit confusing because I had just gotten back from the States and we had seen each other on a Zoom call, but we hadn’t really done much else before we started, right?”

As a red-faced Shephard revealed: “No. We arrived on a Sunday morning and I had been out the previous Saturday night and had only had about three hours’ sleep.”

Surprised, Deeley exclaimed, “Well, you certainly didn’t tell me that that day!”

“No, I was very good and then I had to go to West Ham to film some stuff for the show,” Ben admitted.

“But yeah, it was a really surreal period that we had been talking about and preparing for, and then we just got started. It seems like it went by so fast. Mainly because there’s so much content in each show.”

He added: “Some[days]are like a rollercoaster. Earlier this year I remember we went from Rishi Sunak to the cast of Chorus Line, to interiors with Kelly Hoppen, singer Natalie Imbruglia and Toadie from Neighbours.”

Before the pair revealed how they had also, in the last six months, given away a whopping £30,000 to viewers with their new game Coin Drop.

They then called the daytime programme’s National Television Award nomination for This Morning a “privilege” after the show failed to score a nomination for the first time in 12 years in 2023.

Deeley gushed: —I can’t believe it! Are you sure? Were you wearing your glasses when you read that list?

As Shephard joked: “My mother voted an inordinate amount of times! But seriously, it’s a real privilege for us to host this show and I’m so lucky to work alongside this incredibly talented and brilliant woman who helps me get better at what I do and we get to share this together and that’s a real pleasure.

“And the fact that viewers are enjoying it too is really special.”

Her co-host added: “Absolutely. We love coming to work every day to make this show with the team, and with everyone watching at home and the guests we have on the couch, we couldn’t love it more, so thank you to everyone who voted!”

This comes after Deeley gave fans a glimpse of her family getaway as she shared a series of Instagram snaps from the south of France amid her break from the ITV show.

During his summer break, a rotation of guest presenters would come in to run the show in his absence.

Deeley showed off her incredible figure in a black bandeau bikini, which she paired with a paisley-print skirt.

In another sweet snap, the mother of two cuddled up to her husband Patrick Kielty, 53, who lovingly gave her a kiss on the cheek.

The couple share sons Milo, eight, and James, five, who joined the couple on the sunny trip, as did Cat’s parents.

In another shot, she is seen sporting a tiny khaki bikini while her children worked on building sand castles on the beach.

Join Ben and Cat for a brand new season on This Morning from Monday 2nd September, and Alison and Dermot from Friday 6th September at 10am on ITV, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
