ITALIAN SKIN CARE
I don’t do Botox or fillers, although I am sure my time will come. I adhere to a daily skincare regimen. I use Garnier Micellar Water (£ 5.99, boots.com) to remove my makeup, followed by Strictly Professional’s Cleanser (£ 6.10, justmylook.com). Then I use Kiko Sublime Youth Day and Night cream (both £ 24.99, kikocosmetics.com). Plus, it’s Hydra Pro Eyes Serum (£ 19.99).
I’ve always been size 8, but it’s been harder to keep the pounds off since I turned 50. One thing that works is training with my daughters. Usually we go to the gym together after work. Instead we started cycling and a virtual Pilates class; plus plenty of long walks.

LOCKDOWN DIY DYE
I have had my hair cut and marked every six weeks for over 20 years with the same color specialist – she is now in a salon called Four, in London, with clients Nigella Lawson and Yasmin Le Bon (£ 270, Fourlondon.com). During the lockdown, the salon sent me a do-it-yourself kit of salon paint (from £ 75), which I can use to top up my carrots at home.
ALWAYS WEAR MAKE-UP
I would never go without makeup, I wouldn’t do that to people! Even during lockdown. For a long-lasting foundation, I apply L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mattifying Primer Base (£ 8.99, boots.com) with NYX Professional Makeup Can’t Stop Won’t Stop 24 Hour Foundation (£ 15) and Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder (£ 32, both lookfantastic.com).
CHANGE OF THE MIDLIFE CAREER
I have always been a high-heeled girl. I worked in real estate. Then, ten years ago, I bought a pair of brown boots with crystal details, from a designer in Monaco. I got so many compliments that I opened my own boutique and sold brands you couldn’t buy in the UK; before I started making my own design. I am so much more satisfied. It has given me a new lease of life.
