A hidden beach on Western Australia’s south coast has been described by travellers as the best in the world.
Little Beach, nestled in the rugged beauty of Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve near Albany, has remained a local secret – until now.
This swimming spot has been described as the best way to escape the winter gloom and marked as a must-do on every beach lover’s bucket list.
The sheltered beach with crystal-clear turquoise water has bright white sand dotted with giant black rocks.
It is reached after a short walk from the parking lot located at the end of a long, winding road that connects the site to Albany, 40 minutes away.
A nearby cool waterfall flows into the ocean further impressing visitors, many of whom call it “the most beautiful beach they have ever seen.”
Samantha, a British expat living in Australia who goes by the name _thetravelher online, shared a video from the remote WA beach that received 1.2 million likes on TikTok – and others agree it looks too good to be true.
“The beach looked like a painting and the water was stunning,” said one visitor.
“I would give it a score of 168 out of 100,” another agreed.
Little Beach is a 40-minute drive from the city of Albany, Western Australia.
Iconic giant boulders sit atop pristine white sands next to water so blue it’s “unbelievable” – for beach-goers, the rocks are harder to climb than they look.
The clear water at Little Beach fades from a soft turquoise to a deep blue.
Little Beach and nearby Waterfall Beach are two secluded beaches accessible after a drive and a short walk.
Fans of the “hidden gem” loved how untouched and secluded it seemed from the rest of the world.
“What I love about beaches like this is that they are undeveloped, there are no cafes or houses around to ruin the feeling of being secluded and private,” said one visitor.
Travelers who visited the beach advised others to bring lunch and drinks so they could spend a few wonderful hours enjoying the water and surroundings.
Waterfall Beach is located across from Little Beach, just a few steps away, and is equally beautiful according to those lucky enough to visit it.
“It’s a secluded cove, absolutely stunning,” one woman said.
“It’s harder to reach than Little Beach, which makes it that much more charming,” added another.
Others said that Waterfall Beach was a little more sheltered than Little Beach and that the calmer water made it especially suitable for swimming with children.
The nearby port city of Albany also offers wonderful scenic hiking trails, such as the Bald Head Walk Trail.
The 12.5km walk runs along the narrow ridge of the Flinders Peninsula and is recommended for experienced hikers.
The nearby Torrindup National Park has other impressive natural attractions such as The Blowholes and The Gap.
The Gap is a viewing platform precariously perched 40 metres above sea level.
It offers visitors who are not afraid of heights a thrilling view of waves crashing onto a rocky shore.
Travelers who visit this pristine beach destination dream of returning.
“I will definitely be back,” one woman said.
