This chairman turns 100 in September. His company’s stock may be worth a look.

Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway turns 91 on Monday, but he is not the oldest board chairman among major publicly traded companies.

That distinction likely belongs to George Joseph, the founder, chairman and controlling shareholder of Mercury General (ticker:MCY), a California auto insurer with a market cap of $3 billion. Joseph will turn 100 on September 11 and will continue to run the company along with CEO Gabe Tirador.
