Aldi Australia fans were left divided by the launch of the brand’s streetwear collection.
While many love the bold product line which includes flip flops, bucket hats and “cool” drinks bottles, others described it as “classless”.
Dubbed Aldi-Mania by the retailer, the clothing and accessories line was revealed by FEMAIL on April 2, but won’t hit stores until April 14.
Despite the big lead-up to its launch, the streetwear has attracted a lot of attention, especially in Facebook groups dedicated to Aldi fans.
One woman told the haters to speak for themselves and proudly stated that she was excited to get her hands on the stove.
The Aldi-branded product includes a double-walled mug that looks a lot like the popular Stanley mugs and some “Adidas-style” slides.
‘If people can’t see the fantastic irony of this, I feel sad for them. “I love it and can’t wait to see some cool, mustachioed, long-haired kid rocking this outfit with a wink and a smile,” said one woman.
“I’m bogan enough and have a terrible sense of humor to buy this stuff,” said another.
“I guarantee this will be a huge hit for Aldi,” predicted another.
But there were many people against the idea, begging the retailer to reveal why they had decided to launch a branded range.
‘I saw this in the catalog and had to look twice, why?’ asked a customer.
“They should pay buyers to use this,” laughed another.
‘Cheap mobile advertising. Gross!
An Aldi worker said her partner had ordered “the whole set” and was sad when she realized the slides were not her size.
Another woman who had a ‘sneak preview’ of the range claimed the sweatshirt is the most comfortable jumper she owns.
The Aldi-branded product includes a double-walled mug that closely resembles the popular Stanley cups and a pair of Adidas-style flip-flops.
There will also be hoodies, sweatshirts and sweatpants just in time for winter.
