Think of the monetized kids and other TC news

Date:

Meta makes as much money off kids as she does the rest of us. But this week, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alleged that Meta violated a 2020 order to protect children on the site and violates the agency’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. Not only will the FTC deal another financial blow, they’re moving to ban Meta from monetizing kids altogether.

This is The TechCrunch Podcast, where we talk about the top stories in tech with the people covering them. This week I’m joined by TechCrunch reporter Devin Coldewey to talk about whether Meta’s cavalier approach to compliance is finally coming to an end.
