Alex Collins said that popular graphic tees were an item you should remove from your wardrobe if you wanted to look more stylish.

A woman has revealed the three most common fashion items we need to ditch now – and what we should wear instead.

Alex Collins, A UK fashion expert has deeply divided opinion with her advice on popular items she wouldn’t want to wear even if she were dead.

“There are three things I stopped using to improve my style,” she said in a video.

She has banned shorts with frayed hems, graphic T-shirts and cheap, colorful bags from her outfit rotation in an attempt to give her look a more stylish edge.

1. Shorts with distressed hems

Raw, distressed denim hems are a wardrobe staple for many, especially during the warmer months, but Alex is no longer a fan of the casual style.

‘Instead, I prefer shorts that are fitted or without distressed details.’

She sported a stylish outfit that included black shorts and a black t-shirt with tan accessories to demonstrate how well-tailored shorts look much more stylish.

2. Graphic T-shirts

The style expert has also ditched graphic tees in favour of plain or striped shirts, explaining that they are more versatile and go with the rest of her wardrobe.

3. Cheap and colorful bags

Alex said that cheap bags in bright colors can interfere with a stylish look.

“Instead, I opt for bags in classic colors and classic shapes so they are timeless and can go with any outfit,” she said.

Women reacting to the video couldn’t agree on the tips, but some were fans of the “chic” advice and said Alex’s wardrobe gave off Princess Diana vibes.

“Beautiful style. I totally agree with all three,” said one.

“I’m 42 and I’m learning how to dress like an adult thanks to you,” added another.

“This is very good and timeless advice,” added a third.

One woman agreed that Alex’s style was impressive, although it lacked “personalized touches.”

But others said the recommendations were “very boring” and “joyless”, with almost no colours apart from black, white and beige.

Fans of graphic tees, in particular, refused to let them go, calling the advice to banish them “harsh.”

An unfortunate woman was laughed at for the outfit she was wearing.

“I’m not the one sitting here on all three,” she said.
