It’s heaven for Pixar fans.

Nestled in Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, the Pixar Place Hotel is a colorful homage to Pixar Animation Studios, with 15 floors and 479 rooms dedicated to the entertainment house’s artistry and storytelling.

The resort, which replaces the former Paradise Pier Hotel, opened on January 30 this year.

Inside, there’s a nod to every Pixar feature film to date (27 in total), from classics like Toy Story and The Incredibles to its most recent hits, including Soul.

The hotel is decorated with a multitude of vibrant artwork, from early traces of beloved Pixar characters to final CGI designs. Each floor pays homage to a different Pixar film, with murals and art installations transporting guests into the world of animation.

The experience begins in the lobby, where a large sculpture of the Pixar lamp balanced atop its ball takes center stage. Above there is a floating mobile with initial character designs made up of basic shapes and colors.

At certain times, a “real-life” version of Joe Gardner, a character from the 2020 film Soul, can be found playing the piano and serenading guests near the hotel’s staircase.

Bright, colorful rooms feature a Pixar lamp and a wall mural depicting various Pixar scenes, from Finding Nemo to Ratatouille.

Guests have access to a rooftop pool, complete with a Finding Nemo-themed waterslide and splash pad, as well as private loungers, cabanas and pods, available by reservation.

Next to the rooftop pool, hotel guests can play outdoor games based on Pixar short films, including “La Luna” shuffleboard.

There’s also an outdoor seating area with fire pits sculpted to represent some of Pixar’s brash characters, including Ember from Elemental and Anger from Inside Out.

The homage to Pixar continues in the fitness center, where a mural of Mike and Sulley from Monster’s, Inc. can be seen next to the treadmills.

For those wanting a quieter activity, the hotel’s gift shop, named “STOR-E” after the 2008 film WALL-E, offers plenty of Pixar-themed items and Disney souvenirs to choose from. Browse.

And there are several dining options. The Great Maple, the hotel’s flagship restaurant, is located on the ground floor and offers American-style cuisine including buttermilk fried chicken, short ribs and maple bacon fritters.

For something lighter, Sketch Pad Café in the lobby offers coffee, tea and pastries to go.

This extravagant resort is the first and only entirely Pixar-themed hotel in the United States. He plans to add some finishing touches later this year, including two new themed hotel suites and a concierge lounge called Creators Club.

Guests will be able to immerse themselves in the Coco Suite, a two-bedroom suite inspired by Pixar’s “Coco.” The hotel will also offer an Incredibles Suite, a two-room base with memorabilia from the hit animated film.

The Creators Club will offer snacks and drinks throughout the day and will feature Pixar posters, artwork and a playlist of Pixar songs.

But experiencing Pixar magic won’t come cheap. A night at the hotel costs $500 (£391) for standard rooms and hundreds more for premium rooms and suites.
