- In-form Antonio has scored six goals since the Premier League restart
David Moyes is not afraid that West Ham could lose Mikhail Antonio, as he revealed that West Ham could cause a one-year extension to the in-form forward contract.
Antonio has been flying into the Premier League since rebooting, scoring six goals, including four against Norwich last week.
But while the threat of relegation still looms over West Ham, doubts will remain about the future of their star players – but not in Antonio’s case, Moyes said.
Mikhail Antonio introduced himself during training ahead of Friday’s crunch match against Watford
Regarding Antonio’s future, Moyes said of his contract, “He has one year to go and, as far as I know, he has a built-in extension, so I don’t think there’s any real panic.”
Activating that extension would mean Antonio, 30, would stay with the club until at least 2022.
West Ham is still only three points away from the drop zone, but has a game over the bottom three tonight against relegation rivals Watford at London Stadium tonight. Win that and Moyes’ men only need one point to survive.

Boss David Moyes revealed that the club can extend Antonio’s contract for another year
Despite their inconsistent form, Moyes has praised his entire team’s fight, insisting that Antonio shouldn’t take all the credit if they stay up.
“I don’t think Michy will make it. If we stay in the Premier League it’s because of the team’s performance and I think it will be the attitude of all players, ”Moyes added.
“The players have been crazy since I came in in January. We are desperate for all matches. The players did a great job.
“But we had to take a step up and score goals, and luckily Mikhail Antonio came to the goal and scored some goals. Hopefully that will continue in the remaining three games. ‘
