A young mother’s neighbor whose friend allegedly set her on fire has relived the terrifying moment when she ran from home screaming ‘like a wounded animal’.
Andrea Atkins-Greed sustained burns to 35 percent of her body after Daniel Bolderson allegedly doused her with gasoline and set her on fire on Sunday afternoon.
The mother of two, in her twenties, managed to escape from the Medina house, south of Perth, as she went up in flames and roared in pain.
Troubled neighbor Theresa Mitchell described the gruesome moment when she saw the burning woman.

“She stumbled a little down the road here, shouting my name, shouting for me to help her,” Mrs. Mitchell recalled. 9 News.
“It was like looking at an injured animal.”
In a panic, Mitchell put out the fire that charred her neighbor’s meat and put her under a cold shower.
“She didn’t want to stay there, so we put her on the floor and poured cold water over her until the ambulance could get here,” she said.

“If you look at someone and they beg you to take the pain away, and you can’t … there was nothing I could do.”
Friends of the victim told the network they were arguing about alcohol before Bolderson took a canister full of fuel from the car.
Western Australian police said the 37-year-old allegedly “doused and set fire to part of the sitting room and the woman.”
“The woman in her twenties managed to run out of the house and neighbors were able to put out the flames and call the emergency services,” they said.

Bolderston was charged with acts intended to cause serious bodily harm and criminal damage from fire.
He also sustained burns to the lower part of his body and was over-injured in court via video link on Monday.
