The trailer begins with Howard napping and is woken up by his wife, Dorothy (Lena Headey), who tells him the phone call is for him from the White House.

On the other side is Egil Krogh (Rich Sommer) – who was the head of the White House Special Investigations Unit tracking down leaks to the press from inside the Nixon administration… with his agents known as “The Plumbers” to stop the leaks.

Krug tells him, “Howard, the President asked for a real son of a b***h to handle this Pentagon leak,” referring to the infamous Pentagon Papers.

‘what do you need?’ Says Howard, as he is next seen walking with Krug, who tells him, “I want you to meet Gordon Liddy, the toughest guy I know.” He will hold his hand in the candle flame.

The trailer shows Lady performing the feat in a restaurant, telling his diners, “I don’t bend. I don’t break.”

Howard asks, “What’s the trick?” Krug replies: There isn’t one. He gets third degree burns every time.

John Dean (Domnall Gleason) tells Howard and Gordon, “You work on the Committee to Re-elect the President now,” during which Howard and Gordon are seen embracing.

Your new task is to make sure he wins this election. We’re going to intercept classified information on the radical left,” Dean tells them.

Back at the house, Howard’s wife Dorothy asks, “What’s the plan?” Howard replies, “We’re going to hit the DNC at Watergate.”

“Howard, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard,” Dorothy replied before leaving the room.

They are seen storming Watergate but their plan is immediately hit with a snag because they have the wrong tools to break into it.

“Someone needs to clean up this mess,” says Jeb Magruder (Ike Barinholtz), as Gordon asks, “Do you want us to break in the fourth time?”

“Wait, what do you mean a fourth time?” Jeb asks, while Gordon shrugs it off, saying, “Nothing, spy talk.”

Gordon comes home and finds his wife, Fran, in bed, and asks him how his day was, he says, “There’s a chance I’m going to jail.”

She sits in bed and says, “Wait what?!” As we see Dean telling Gordon, “I really hope you understand the scope and scale of this thing.”

Dorothy says to her husband, ‘You’re telling these weak politicians that loyalty is a two-way street.
