A relative of Rachel Morin, a mother of five murdered in Maryland, says President Joe Biden has blood on his hands after authorities charged an illegal migrant with her sister’s murder, just one of many immigrant-related crimes. this week.
Victor Martinez Hernandez, 23, was arrested June 14 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in connection with the murder of the 37-year-old woman after her naked body was found on a hiking trail in Maryland nearly a year ago.
The case remained a mystery for 10 months after Morin was reported missing by her boyfriend in August 2023.
Emily Morin Lyman, Morin’s half-sister, said President Joe Biden and his administration are directly to blame for the brutal rape and murder of her sister.
“As far as I’m concerned, the Biden administration has Rachel Morin’s blood on its hands,” he said Friday morning on Fox & Friends.
Police arrested an illegal immigrant on June 14 on suspicion of raping and murdering Rachel Morin, 37, a Maryland mother, in August 2023.
This week alone, at least three immigrants in the United States illegally have been charged with rape, murder or both, and another pleaded guilty to raping a 12-year-old girl.
According to detectives, Hernandez was believed to be hiding near a popular hiking trail when he allegedly murdered Morin.
Morin’s naked and battered body was found on the Ma and Pa hiking trail in Bel Air, Maryland, about 45 miles north of Baltimore, the day after she was reported missing.
He allegedly attacked, raped and killed her before fleeing the state, and the Tulsa Police Department said he was tracked to Oklahoma after the FBI contacted state officials.
Hernández illegally crossed the southern border in February 2023 after he allegedly murdered another woman in El Salvador a month earlier.
He is also accused of attacking a nine-year-old girl and her mother in Los Angeles before Morin’s murder.
Speaking on Fox News this week, Morin’s mother, Patty, criticized Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for referring to Rachel as an “individual” instead of using her name during an appearance on CNN.
Rachel Morin’s half-sister, Erin Morin Layman, says the Biden administration has blood on its hands over its border policies that have left Americans dead.
Morin’s murder remained unsolved for 10 months until the arrest of a suspect this month.
Hernández was arrested on Friday but the Morín family believes there may be other victims
“It’s a completely political statement because they’re not even willing to acknowledge that she was a mother, a daughter,” Patty said.
“It totally depersonalizes her and turns her into an object,” he continued.
But according to Lyman, former President Donald Trump called the grieving family after the alleged rapist and murderer was arrested and spoke with them for half an hour about their tragedy.
‘We are happy and honored that President Trump called the family. I didn’t talk to him personally, but I heard the call was amazing,” Lyman told Fox News. “It was a good half hour.”
Lyman said Trump was candid in the conversation, and that she appreciates the way he sometimes mentions his late sister at his rallies.
The former president has been very outspoken about the impact Biden’s policies have had on the country, often invoking the term “immigration crime” in his campaign appearances.
Trump has described it as a new type of crime that began under Biden and involves immigrants who are in the country illegally attacking Americans.
Federal authorities have encountered approximately 10 million immigrants trying to enter the United States in the three and a half years Biden has been in power.
It is by far the largest number of illegal crossings in US history and Mayorkas himself has said that the border is in a state of crisis.
Tragically, Morin’s murder is not the only case of crimes against migrants making headlines this week.
Morin was reported missing by her boyfriend Richard Tobin (pictured together) after she went trail running and did not return.
Jocelyn Nungary, 12, was found dead from strangulation in a shallow creek near her home on Sunday.
Two immigrants were charged this week with the rape and murder of Jocelyn Nungary, a 12-year-old Texas girl.
Both are migrants from Venezuela who were released in the country despite having been intercepted by border agents.
Franklin José Peña Ramos, 26, had a GPS monitor placed on his ankle by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent after crossing in El Paso, Texas, on May 28, but he had already cut off when the two were arrested for killing Jocelyn Nungaray.
Johan José Rangel Martínez, 21, was also released after being intercepted by border agents on March 14, just over three months before Jocelyn’s body was found floating in a creek near her home in Houston on Monday. .
The couple was charged with capital murder on Thursday and investigators are awaiting test results to confirm whether Jocelyn was raped as well as murdered.
Authorities say the 12-year-old boy was strangled to death early Monday morning and was found that same morning under a bridge near a creek around Houston.
His grieving mother, Alexis Nungary, is now struggling to process what happened.
“It’s like it’s not real,” he said. Click2Houston. “I keep hearing everything, and I hear it and it doesn’t register.”
She recalled telling her daughter on Sunday not to stay up too late, as she would meet her at work the next day. Those would be the last words he spoke to his daughter.
It is believed that Jocelyn first encountered the two men when she went to a convenience store.
Johan José Rangel Martínez, 21, and Franklin José Peña Ramos, 26, have been charged with capital murder following a search for the suspects.
Police said the suspects resided in the same apartment complex as the victim.
Another migrant who entered the country illegally was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in the Queens neighborhood of New York City this week after brandishing a machete at the girl.
Although he was detained in Eagle Pass, Texas, in 2021 while illegally crossing into the United States, he was given a court date and released into the country.
Fortunately, a group of good Samaritans sprang into action after the young woman screamed for help and began beating the migrant accused of rape, Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, 25.
Inga-Landi ducked under a nearby car in an attempt to escape the beating of six outraged locals.
Jeffrey Flores, 24, one of the good Samaritans who intervened on the girl’s behalf, said the alleged rapist ‘was screaming for help… he kept saying ‘Help!’… and I said, ‘That’s what that the girl was there. saying.”
Inga-Landi in the photo on Wednesday. She faces charges including rape and sexual assault.
Jeffrey Flores, 24, arrested alleged child rapist Christian Inga-Landy, 25, after noticing the suspect frequented his local deli in Corona, Queens (pictured) and was keeping an eye on him.
Flores is now in line to collect a $10,000 reward offered by the NYPD for the successful capture of Inga-Landi.
He told DailyMail.com that he had contacted police about the cash and that they would contact him within days.
Flores added: “I didn’t do it for the reward, I did it for the people.”
Additionally, this week another illegal immigrant pleaded guilty to raping a 12-year-old girl in Iowa.
Junior Manuel Dubón Benítez, 18, a Honduran who crossed into the United States illegally in April 2022, was arrested on February 14 for alleged “sexual abuse against Jane Doe, a 12-year-old girl.”
Court documents indicate the attack occurred at a home in Waterloo, Iowa.
The Honduran accepted a plea deal for third-degree sexual abuse and faces up to 10 years in prison, according to the Washington Examiner.
