“Oh my God, I hugged her goodbye,” said host Carson Daly, 49.

“You know, if someone takes the time to do her nails like this, she should be on Team Gwen,” said Gwen. You are just a beautiful person. Honestly, I really want to get to know you better.

“Fate made all the coaches light,” Gwen said in a confession. There was a glow around so I had to save the pot,

The show opened with Team Camila contestant Ava Thorison, 18, of Santa Barbara, who battled Orlando “Cuban Cowboy” Mendez, 26, of Miami. Camilla’s advisor Charlie Puth met with both contestants first to give them advice before their big performance. Ava was nervous, saying she didn’t have much experience.

“I’ll make eye contact with one person who really gives me back the energy,” Camilla suggested.

The two grappled with vocals from Rocket Man by Elton John.

“Maybe Orlando won,” Blake said.

Camila eventually chooses Orlando as the winner of the fight.

“It was my four-chair turn,” Camilla said.

Next, contestants on Nashville’s Gwen Jay Allen battle it out against Kara Brindischi, 34, a certified music therapist from Massachusetts. Sean Paul, 49, who served as an advisor to Gwen, gave them advice. They performed “Leather And Lace” by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley.

“These two are right,” Sean said.

“Kara, you were so perfect,” John said.

‘I think I’ll go with Jay,’ said Blake.

“Cara, your voice is really nice and beautiful,” Camila said.

In the end, Gwen chose Cara to move on with the competition.

“She really gets in tune with her heart when she sings,” said Gwen.

“I came here to represent my family and my mom who passed away from Alzheimer’s and it’s not going to stop here,” Jay said.

Jay decided to choose Blake.

“Forgive me, but I think I’ll go with your husband,” said Jay.

“Surely Blake will pay for that later,” Gwen said.

“The good news is I got Jay, the bad news is we might have to do some marriage counseling,” Blake said.

Gwen got up and hit him.

Legend cast contestants Nia Skiver, 26, of Miami, and Emma Brock, 19, of South Carolina, were given It’s All I Wanna Be by Tate McRae to sing. John and his advisor Jazmyn Brooks encouraged them to consider the sentiment of the song.

‘You have a beautiful voice,’ Gwen told Emma.

Team Blake singer Jayden Locke, 22, of Bothell, Washington, competed against Bodhi, 29, of Ladera Ranch, California. Blake gave them Justin Bieber’s song As Long as You Love Me.

Team Blake advisor Jimmy Allen was impressed with both. Tell them their voices were so different but they just blended together.

“This will get Bieber’s attention,” Blake said.

‘Guys, that was good,’ said Camila when they finished performing. “I was, like, hot and awkward for a second there.” This was a really interesting arrangement of the song.
