American R&B superstar Jason Derulo was announced as the new coach to The Voice Australia on Sunday….and some fans aren’t happy about that.
Outraged viewers took to The Voice’s Instagram page to share their concerns about Jason, 33, replacing country music star Keith Urban, 55, on the judging panel.
One angry viewer commented: “I’d like to watch with people more connected to Australia.”
“This is the end of The Voice for me,” another wrote, while a third said Jason wouldn’t be a good judge because “his voice is always auto-tuned.”
However, other viewers praised Channel Seven for bringing an international star to the show.

The pop sensation says he’s out searching for the next global superstar.
Derulo arrived at Channel 7 as a replacement for crowd favorite Keith Urban, who left the show as a coach at the end of last season.

“I will provide a global perspective,” Derulo said, explaining his game plan in an interview. Sunday Telegraph.
“Obviously they are musicians from Australia but the way the music industry has changed, there are no rules anymore.”
“I think more than ever, the lines are blurred, so there’s an opportunity for a global star to emerge from this,” he said.
Former coach Keith said he quit The Voice because he wanted to spend time with his family and tour Australia.
Tell The Daily Telegraph In October he was trying to balance his schedule with his wife Nicole Kidman so they could take their children to visit their grandparents and extended family over the Christmas holidays.
