The 55-year-old singer returned to the show as a trainer in Monday’s Battles round, but it was her hairstyle that stole the show.
The No Doubt star ditched her signature icy platinum locks for warm, wavy blonde tresses with prominent bangs that framed her face.
She paired the look with a bright yellow sunflower dress and flawless makeup.
After the episode, fans flooded social media with discussions about Gwen’s surprising hairstyle choice, with one writing: “Please Gwen, the blonde (mop) wig looks HORRIBLE.”

The battle rounds are a crucial stage on The Voice, where contestants from each team are paired up to sing a duet together. The coach then chooses the contestant who he believes performed the best to advance to the Knockout Rounds.
During the episode, Gwen teamed up with a pair of teenagers: 19-year-old Sloane Simon and 15-year-old Sydney Sterlace.
They were both given the Billie Eilish song Birds of a Feather, and Gwen realized in rehearsals that it would also be a difficult decision.

He ultimately chose Sydney, but the three remaining judges: Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Michael Bublé used their Robo against Sloane, who chose Bublé.
Snoop brought together two duos for battle, and fans got their first glimpse of his training style and were quite impressed.
The hip hop star kicked off the show by pitting Gail Bliss and Christina Eagle against each other to sing Gretchen Wilson’s Redneck Woman and then chose Mikayla Ayira and Eliza Pryor to sing Vanessa Carlton’s A Thousand Miles.
Many were impressed and took to social media, with some claiming he is the best judge in the show’s long history.
While none of Snoop’s singers were stolen after elimination, there were two big thefts to kick off the Battle Rounds.
Snoop quickly realized how difficult the battle rounds would be after his performance, and admitted that choosing one over the other was going to “break my heart.”
After channeling his ‘Gangster Holy Spirit,’ he ultimately chose Christina, 23, over Gail, 61.
None of the other judges robbed Gail after the performance, so they sent her home.
Bublé paired Kiara Vega, 18, with Mor Ilderton, 20, to sing Iris from Goo Goo Dolls.

Michael realized that the song was not in any of his ‘lanes’ and Mor admitted that he had never harmonized it before.
The judge ultimately chose Kiara, after insisting the decision was “impossible,” and even gave Mor her personal phone number… before Stefani swooped in to steal it.
Also advancing was Team Reba’s Kendall Eugene, whom he chose over Alison Elena after they sang Bring On the Rain by Jo Dee Messina and Tim McGraw.
Stefani chose Jan Dan instead of Jaylen Dunham, since Jan Dan had to leave immediately afterward because his wife was due to be born that day with their first child.
The Voice returns Tuesday, October 22 at 8 pm ET on NBC.
