Chance The Rapper used the new “pass” option to send Manasseh Samone straight to the playoffs as Battles began on Monday’s episode of NBC’s The Voice.
The new coach pitted 29-year-old Manasseh, 22, of Dallas, against Sorel’s trio of Singing Nuns as the second leg of the show kicked off after blind auditions.
Chance gave his band members “Adele Someone Like You” to sing and instruct before they performed against each other.
Manasseh returned to the show after auditioning last year and failing to get any chairs to turn.
Manasseh said before the rehearsal: `Never give up and keep working until you hear your voice.

Chance arranged the hit song to highlight Manasseh’s operatic background and Sorel’s ability to elevate the song with its harmonies and harmonies.
Their delivery made Chance proud and impressed new coach Niall Horan, as well as Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton.
“This is my team!” Chance exclaimed after their performance.

Kelly told Chance he could do no wrong either way, and he also singled out Manasseh for praise.
Blake, 46, said he wondered how they would blend when they first started singing.
“And now I never want you to not sing together,” said Blake.
Agreed with Kelly about Manasseh and also commended Sorel for attacking the song and sounding strong with each other.

Blake said he would go with Sorrell because of their distinctive voice.
Niall, 29, praised Shorell for their chemistry and said he would lean in towards them both.
Chance said he was proud of Manasseh and Sorel before naming the trio of sisters Maddie, 21, Anna, 20, and Bella, 15, the winners of the battle.
Sorel had to move on to the next round. Their confidence on stage, their dynamic as sisters, and the fact that they can do so many harmonies is just something the show needs,” said Chance.
The show’s host, Carson Daly, 49, asked Manasseh if she had anything to say to Chance.
Serendipitously, I just want to say that you have truly been a blessing to me. I am so grateful to be in this moment,” she said.
Chance then hit his Playoff Pass button and the banners fell off the top as she advanced directly to the playoffs.

“She is heads and tails above the competition in my eyes.” She has the strongest voice. She’s had experience of being on this stage before. And I think Manasseh totally deserves to be skipped to the next round,” Chance said.
The two-hour show opened with Blake choosing Tasha Jessen as the winner of her battle against EJ Michaels after they sang The Tracks Of My Tears.
Chance and Niall hit their buttons to rob EJ and he chose Niall as his new coach.
Jamar Langley and Maria Kalea were paired by Chance to singity and Jamar emerged as the winner.
Niall chose Jenna Miles over Kala Banham after they sang Skinny Love, but Kala was stolen by Kelly to stay on the show.
Kelly named Kate Martin as the winner over Allie Keck after they performed It Must Have Been Love.
Blake Walker chose Wilson over Casson Lester after they wrestled Here Without You by 3 Doors Down.
The Voice will return Tuesdays on NBC.
