The 50-year-old Hartford, Connecticut native, known for his involvement in prominent Christian bands, finished in the bottom five after the top nine performed on Monday’s episode.

Bryan won the Instant Save after belting out Coldplay’s song Viva la Vida and joined the final after being supported throughout season 25 by his coach John Legend, 45.

John stood up from his red chair and danced as host Carson Daly, 50, announced Bryan was the winner and applauded him as well.

Bryan offered hugs to the four singers who were eliminated after also finishing in the bottom five and being forced to sing live during the Instant Save to advance.

Serenity Arce, Tae Lewis, Madison Curbelo and Maddi Jane were eliminated.

Bryan gave his coach John two performers in the finals for the first time in his nine seasons as coach.

John’s ‘retro soul singer’ Nathan Chester, 28, from Chicago, previously advanced to the final during the hour-long results episode.

Chance The Rapper, 31, opened the show with a visually stunning performance of his new single Together.

Brazilian singer Anitta, 31, also performed a medley of her songs ‘Ahí’ and ‘Lose Ya Breath’ during the episode.

Carson first revealed that new coaches Dan + Shay had interest in the finale as her singer Karen Waldrup, 37, from Mandeville, Louisiana, moved forward.

Reba McEntire, 69, also learned that her singer Josh Sanders, 36, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, made it to the finals.

The Queen of Country landed her second singer in the finals when Asher HaVon, 32, of Selma, Alabama, was announced as the fourth finalist voted on by the public.

Serenity, 17, from Jupiter, Florida, performed first during Instant Save and sang the Kelly Clarkson song Because Of You.

Tae, 32, of Goldsboro, North Carolina, was next and performed a smooth rendition of country singer Hunter Hayes’ Wanted.

Bryan, with his mohawk hair, next performed Coldplay’s 2008 song and Carson later told him: “You sounded like the record.”

John praised Bryan for the song choice and described his performance as “poignant” and “energizing.”

‘I was in your pocket as a vocalist and as a performer, and I tell you every round that I feel like I should be at your arena concert. And this seemed to be the most important moment of all in their arena concert. And I am very happy to be able to train you. America, we still can’t send this man home. “We can’t send him home yet,” John said.

Madison, 22, from Westfield, Massachusetts, performed the Michael Jackson song Man in the Mirror during the Instant Save.

Maddi, 25, from Chicago, performed I’ll Never Love Again from the 2018 film A Star is Born.

Before the Instant Save voting results were announced, Carson asked Bryan if he had anything he would like to say to his coach John.

‘John, you’ve given me words of encouragement and inspiration while the cameras were rolling, but you’ve done it many times when they weren’t. And i will never forget. Even at my age, that helps. That helps define what I’m supposed to do. And this has been a dream. And I thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this,” Bryan said.

John told Bryan that he loved the “spirit of gratitude” he brought to the show and that he loved working with him.
