View host Whoopi Goldberg found herself ruthlessly mocked by her fellow panelists this week after confessing she believes in aliens and ghosts.
Whoopi, 67, made the otherworldly confession during Thursday’s episode of the morning show, adamantly insisting to fellow hosts that “we’re not the only ones in the universe “.
But while she was resolute in her belief, the Whoopi co-hosts – Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin and guest host Rachel Lindsay – weren’t so easily convinced, with the panel bursting into laughter as soon as she started discussing the idea that aliens and ghosts “are among us”.
Joy, 80, and Sara, 45, notably poked fun at Whoopi’s movie resume and joked “she knows” about paranormal and extraterrestrial beings because she starred in Ghost and Star Trek.
Whoopi claimed “there’s more in the sky and on Earth than we realize” during a conversation with the panel on the existence and risks of UFOs – but not everyone didn’t take his comments so seriously.
Speaking out: Whoopi Goldberg admitted she believes in UFOs during Thursday’s episode of The View

Mock: Sara Haines joked Whoopi ‘knows’ because she was on Star Trek
When asked if she thought “they’re among us,” Whoopi replied, “Yeah, I think so,” but the teasing continued.
The Oscar-winning actress made her thoughts known after watching a clip of a former intelligence official testifying at an explosive congressional hearing.
David Grusch – a former senior intelligence official – was one of three military whistleblowers who testified under oath that they had direct contact or knowledge of secret government programs involving “non-human” technology.
Mr. Grusch suggested that people have been murdered by the US government as part of the plot to keep UFOs a secret.
After showing the footage, The View returned to the studio and Whoopi announced, “I don’t know why everyone is so surprised.” We are not the only ones in the universe. We simply are not.
Sara replied, “I wasn’t surprised that we were the only ones in the universe, it’s that the two worlds should never collide, the crossover gets to me.”
Rachel spoke out and admitted, “I’m so pro-cover up,” as Joy tried to move the conversation along.
“How about the fact that July is now the hottest month on record anywhere in the world. It’s something, she says.
But Whoopi had none of that and told him, “It’s not alien, it’s us!”

Turnout: Joy Behar poked fun at Whoopi’s role in the hit 1990 film Ghost

Alyssa Farah Griffin and guest host Rachel Lindsay (left) wanted to know more about Whoopi’s beliefs

Back then: Whoopi starred as Guinan in several Star Trek movies
Joy then admitted: “I subscribe to the philosophy of Neil deGrasse Tyson. He says, “Everyone has a camera on their phone these days, they can take amazing pictures. We would have known long ago if there was indeed extraterrestrial life on Earth.
‘”Just because you see something in the sky and you don’t know what it is doesn’t mean you know what it is”.’
Whoopi argued, “I’m going to go against that point a bit, because, a, people are trying to get vaccinated.” They take pictures and then people say, “what is this?” Well, you take a picture of Nelly, the Loch Ness monster and people say, “what is that?” and they reject it.
“But here’s the thing, there’s more in the sky and on the Earth than we know and we need to be aware of that because it’s the nature of being an earthling,” she continued. ‘It will happen. It happened, and so far so good.
Sara then joked, “You guys, she knows she was in Star Trek!”
Whoopi ignored the joke and continued, “Sixty-seven, I can say I haven’t seen any channel surfing happen. I haven’t seen things happen that you see in movies. So maybe ‘they’re not adversaries, maybe they’re just trying to get along…’
“Like Casper the Friendly Ghost!” Joy blurted out as Sara corrected her, “He’s a ghost, not an alien!”
“Do you think they’re among us?” Alyssa asked sounding very interested, while Whoopi replied, “Yeah, I think so, I think so.”
Referring to another of Whoopi’s roles, Joy joked, “She also believes in ghosts, well she was in the Ghost movie, that’s why!”

She believes: The Oscar-winning actress kept a serious face as she explained her views to the panel

A long time ago: Whoopi starred in the 1990 film Ghost alongside Demi Moore
Whoopi then revealed, “It’s always the people who go to the movies and say to me, ‘Oh, she believes in ghosts!’ but they never ask me!
‘Do you? You know that, don’t you? Joy probed her as Whoopi stopped and Sara blurted out, “That means yes!”
But Whoopi was quick to correct her and said, “No, that means I’m not saying yes or no, I’m staying open.”
Her comments come just months after she left the panel in hysteria when she sang a falsetto rendition of the Star Trek theme live in February 2023.
