The View's Sara Haines and Joy Behar (right) clashed Wednesday while talking about 'miracle' weight-loss drugs.

The View panel clashed with each other during Wednesday’s episode as they had a pretty tense debate over whether or not it’s “offensive” to ask someone if they’re taking a weight-loss medication.

Whoopi Goldberg, who admitted to taking Mounjaro earlier this year, argued that not everyone feels “comfortable” sharing details about how they’ve lost weight, while Sara Haines suggested that “public people” should always be open about it.

Sara, a mother of three, said: “We have lost so much life in our bodies that I forgive those who say, ‘What’s your magic solution?’ Help me,” and I forgive the person who says, “This is really private, I really don’t want to share that.”

But if you are public, I disagree. “If you are public and you write about an image, I think you owe it to the people.”

‘Because?’ Joy Behar asked, as Sara, 46, responded, “Because I think if you’re sitting there and everyone’s consuming everything on you, and then you find the miracle drug and you take it and everyone’s like, ‘You look amazing,'” and you say, “I exercise a lot and eat lean proteins…”‘

‘Well, don’t lie about it, that’s the line!’ Whoopi, 68, chimed in as Sara continued: ‘But everyone does it because someone says, “You look great” and they leave out what the magic was!’

Joy, 81, chimed in again, pointing out, “But the ads keep coming up on TV, so it’s obvious why you lost all that weight,” while Sara responded, “Well, if it’s obvious, say it!” . but Joy wasn’t having any of that and blurted out, ‘Why? It’s really nobody’s business!’

Sunny Hostin then shared her thoughts and said, ‘I think if you are a public person you can’t lie and you can’t omit, because omission is really a lie.’

‘But I also think we would never say to someone, ‘Are you taking this diabetes medication or this antidepressant?’ We wouldn’t do that.’

‘Well, you would have to have a lot more information to be able to do that. You should know that someone has…’ Whoopi suggested, before talking about his own weight loss.

‘Yes, I took Mounjaro. I did it, you know? I say this all the time because you can’t go over about 300 pounds without someone saying, “Okay, what happened?” Because you know I didn’t go to the gym! People know it!’ the mother of one said candidly.

Then Sara said: ‘Sunny, you said something about answering about medications, one thing is that I have a lot of anxiety… when people have written to me privately and said: “help me, I’m struggling with the same thing”… I have responded to them.

“Because if I have a secret and it works for me, I’ll say, ‘This is what I’ve done and this is what helps me,'” he added, as Whoopi noted, “And you’re comfortable with that.” .’

The Sister Act star added: “But not everyone is comfortable with that.” You can’t expect everyone to tell you everything because some of us are at a certain age where we don’t tell you everything.

‘This idea that we have to share what we eat, who we sleep with, all the photos, I don’t want to know! I don’t want to know! “I’m glad you’re doing your thing (but) I really like privacy, I like it.”

“I don’t post about this like, ‘Guess what I’m taking,’ it’s like when someone DMs you or asks you for help,” Sara said defensively, as Whoopi reminded her, “Well, when they come to you and ask for their It helps, but we’re talking about sharing and being public and stuff.’

‘No, I wouldn’t just publish it! Well, I’m definitely taking things, guys, so write to me privately if you want to know!’ Sara added, before confirming that she is taking “things that help you with anxiety.”

In March, Whoopi opened up about her own weight loss journey during an episode of The View and admitted that she turned to the medication after her weight skyrocketed to 300 pounds while filming the movie Till in 2021.

Whoopi’s weight loss confession came as the daytime show’s hosts discussed Oprah Winfrey’s new ABC weight loss special, Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution, in which the TV mogul promoted Ozempic, while defending his decision to use it.

In response to 70-year-old Oprah’s vehement defense of drugs, Whoopi intervened to reveal that she herself had turned to medication as a last resort in her weight loss journey, after having tried other methods to help her slim down.

“I’ll tell you, I was almost 300 pounds when I did Till,” Whoopi revealed.

“I had taken all these steroids, I was taking all these things and one of the things that has helped me lose weight is Mounjaro… That’s what I use.’

This led her colleague, Sunny, 55, to make a similar confession, sharing that she had gained 40 pounds during the COVID pandemic and made the decision to use Mounjaro to try to lose that weight.

“All I did was eat… I love to cook and I discovered that I love to eat and I was horrified by the fact that I would have to come here,” she said. ‘I also took Mounjaro and got all these nasty emails and stuff like that.

‘(They said), “You’re very skinny and… you’re taking it away from diabetics.” That’s why it’s embarrassing when you’ve gained weight. I’d never experienced that kind of shame before and what I loved about what (Oprah) said is that obesity is a disease, right?

Sunny added, “What I will say is that if someone has diabetes and is receiving treatment for diabetes, that’s fine.” When someone has some type of heart disease, it’s okay. They are not ashamed of it, but when someone is obese, they are ashamed.

‘I found out that my cholesterol went up to 200 when I gained extra weight and used Mounjaro and my cholesterol is now 140. I feel better, I look better and that’s what it’s all about.’
