The brother of one of his murder victims has painted a mural of a feared Melbourne gangster.

The image of hitman Rodney ‘The Duke’ Collins, who died in prison in 2018 aged 72 while serving two life sentences for murdering a couple in 1987, was sprayed on a street in Melbourne’s inner city.

Enzo Condello, whose brother Mario police say was also killed by Collins, was forced to walk past the “distressing” mural because he lived nearby.

But the grieving brother has now taken the law into his own hands by painting the offensive black and white mural with red and gold paint.

“It was 100 meters from my house on a street… it was very disturbing so I had it removed,” Mr Condello told the Herald of the sun.

Mr Condello, who was once a lawyer, was part of the criminal group ‘Carlton Crew’.
