The ultimate Lego Star Wars game has once again been indefinitely delayed, and that’s okay

If you’ve been eagerly waiting for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga To fulfill the incredible promise of last August’s exciting trailer (see above), I have bittersweet news: the game has slowed down again. Developer TT Games tweeted on Friday that “we can’t meet the planned spring release date”, which was itself a delay from the game’s original 2020 launch screen.

Bittersweet, as the delay comes with the promise that it will be the company’s “biggest and best LEGO game ever”, which is exactly what that trailer looked like last fall.

It’s been sixteen years since the first Lego Star Wars, and I can certainly wait a little longer if there is a chance to reach that goal. We’ve seen far too many games slide out before they are done, and I can think of at least one notable reason why a developer might need a little more time now.

However, it could mean a game less for new PS5 and Xbox Series X / S buyers to take advantage of their new consoles in the short term. (It’s also coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.)

There is no new release date for it Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga yet.
