The UK's best restaurants revealed: Uber Eats shares the best takeaways in Britain, so is your favorite on the list?

UberEats has revealed its finalists for best restaurant of the year in the UK and Ireland, with nominated restaurants including one of London’s best burger joints.

Favorite takeaways from across the country and Ireland were selected from a pool of 130 restaurants and have now been narrowed down to the final 12.

Finalists include Natty’s Jerk Shack in Portsmouth, competing for the third year in a row. Founded in 2017, it prides itself on “offering a modern twist to Jamaican cuisine.”

Their impressive dishes range from goat curry for £13 to a Sunday roast with roast chicken, rice and peas, roast potatoes, macaroni and cheese, Yorkshire pudding, vegetables and jerk sauce with a dessert for £19 per person.

Meanwhile, Bristolians and Brummies have the best Indian restaurants in their areas, including Urban Tandoor and Soho Tavern, which is a gastropub where people can watch their favorite sports while enjoying a tasty meal.

Soho Tavern’s most popular dish is their butter chicken, which will set you back £11.25, after their tikka masala and chilli chips for £5.50.

Elsewhere, London, Gateshead and Limerick are home to the best American burger joints, including Junglees, 40 Ounce and Locke Burger.

Junglees, which was only established in 2021, serves burgers and ‘wild wings’, and Uber Eats customers love their £10.99 burger.

Locke Burger is famous for its home fries, closely followed by its bacon cheeseburger, which costs around £10.54.

There are also a few fried chicken shops in the running for restaurant of the year, including The Nashville Cluck in Liverpool and Chick and Shakes in Nottingham.

Nashville Cluck believe they have the “best Nashville buttermilk chicken” in the UK, as the owners spent some time in the US, “to capture the authentic flavour”.

Sqew Shawarma Bar, a restaurant famous for its kebabs, represents Leeds in its bid to become the national home of the UK’s best takeaway.

Mackles ice cream parlor in Belfast, Haystack Cafe in Swansea and Salt & Chilli Oriental in Scotland also made the top 12.
