Stephen Fry has reportedly agreed to take part in new celebrity spin-off The Traitors.

Sources close to the show revealed that the comedian was contacted to star in the show and “confirmed” that he will make an appearance.

According to The Sun, the 67-year-old English presenter was at the top of presenter Claudia Winkleman’s, 52, wish list for the BBC One psychological game show.
They added: “No contracts have been signed yet, but he told the show bosses to give him a date and time and he would be there.”
Others on Claudia’s wish list for next year’s series reportedly include Only Connect game show host Victoria Coren Mitchell and actors Adam Woodyatt and Andrew Garfield.
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Stephen and Claudia for comment.
Ricky Gervais is also said to feature prominently among the collection of celebrities being cast for the show, according to the Sun.
It is not known whether he will comply with the BBC’s request, as he has been incredibly busy in recent weeks with his popular stand-up series for Netflix.
Despite his busy schedule, the whistleblower hopes to convince the actor to return to the channel where he initially rose to worldwide fame for his role in The Office.
A TV source told the publication: ‘The BBC wants the crème de la crème of stars for the celebrity spin-off, and ideally they’re incredibly clever, funny and mischievous – and that’s Ricky in three words.
‘Behind the scenes, big names have already expressed interest in taking part since it was revealed that the new version of The Traitors was being made.

The second season of the hit BBC series The Traitors was a huge success earlier this year, with its finale making history as the most-watched episode ever, with 6.9 million people tuning in.
The gripping reality show has also won a number of awards, including the British Academy Television Awards and last year’s National Television Awards.
It is already set to return for a third season, which has already been filming in the Scottish Highlands after nearly 300,000 people applied.
The series is set to be filmed in 2025 and casting for celebrity contestants is already underway.
BBC Director of Entertainment Kalpna Patel-Knight said: “The Traitors has established itself as a must-see highlight of the year and the news of a fourth season, along with a new celebrity version coming to the BBC, will take the series to a whole new level.”

Meanwhile, Unscripted creative director at Studio Lambert and executive producer of The Traitors, Mike Cotton, said: “We’re delighted to invite some celebrities to our castle to come and play the game.”

It has also been reported that the presenter would like to see Adam Woodyatt star on the show (pictured in February).

Earlier this year, it was reported The producers were probably interested in stars like Wagatha Christie is rivalling Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy for a celebrity cover.
Others said to be on the possible shortlist include former Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who came third in 2022’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, and Match of the Day presenter and former footballer Gary Lineker.
While host Claudia previously expressed the big names she would like to see appear on a celebrity version of the show.
She listed: ‘Victoria Coren, Kirsty Young, Adam Woodyatt, Stephen Fry, Alison Hammond… let’s do it.’
