Crews searching for the submarine Titan heard a “thumping” sound early Tuesday.
A Canadian search aircraft with underwater detection capabilities picked up “thumping” sounds emanating from the depths around the wreckage of HMS Titanic about every 30 minutes, according to a US government memo obtained by CNN.
Rolling stonewho first reported it, said an email to the Department of Homeland Security from the Explorers Society research group read:
“Sonar is reported to have detected potential ‘tick sounds’ at the site at 2 a.m. local time, indicating that the crew may be alive and signaling.”
There was a knock 4 hours later when “additional sonar was deployed”.
