A man who was tracked down by Internet sleuths after repeatedly torturing his girlfriend’s cat to near death has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
A court in Poland sparked outrage after sentencing Kacper B. to less than the maximum five years after being found guilty of “extreme cruelty” to animals.
Before his arrest, the 24-year-old had posted a series of sickening videos and images on social media along with descriptions of what he had been doing to the helpless animal called Leni.
In a photo showing the cat hanging by its legs from a hairdryer cord, the sadist wrote: “The son of a bitch pissed me off.”
‘First I beat him almost to death, then I took a hair dryer and hung him on a wire by his front and back legs.

The abuse was soon discovered by animal rights group the Lower Silesian Animal Protection Inspectorate, which offered a cash reward to uncover the man’s identity.

“He howls like he’s being skinned, then gets punched in the face and passes out in a second.”
In another post, the 24-year-old said he had set the cat’s whiskers on fire.

The group posted online: “Once again, we have the power of the Internet to identify the sadist who cruelly abuses his cat.”
In scenes reminiscent of the hit Netflix documentary Don’t F**k With Cats, the campaign saw internet sleuths and celebrities join the online search.
Within a few hours he was located and his information was handed over to the police.
Kacper B., who made his first court appearance in 2023 and was wearing a headband and a pair of toy cat ears, said he was “in a hurry because he had to feed his new girlfriend’s cats.”
Late last month he appeared in court again in the Polish coastal town of Gdynia, where prosecutor Katarzyna Topczewska said: “He wanted to show his sadistic tendencies.
‘He recorded the video himself. He bragged about it on the Internet. He described in detail what he did to the cat.
‘In addition, he is a person of great intelligence. What the accused did was conscious. He enjoyed it. The movies show that he has sadistic tendencies.’

The cat (pictured), which is reportedly suffering from “permanent damage to its health”, has been placed in the care of a temporary home.
But after being found guilty of animal abuse and possession of child pornography, the judge decided to sentence him to prison for less than three years.
An outraged Topczewska said: “I demanded the maximum sentence of five years in prison.”
“During my closing speech, I rhetorically asked the court what more needed to be done to the animal and how brazen one had to be in court to get the maximum sentence.”
The man’s ex-girlfriend, Danuta W., was jailed for 10 months with a three-year suspended sentence for failing to stop the abuse.
