A concerned mother has spoken out about unruly classes and bullying allegedly taking place at her children’s school in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

A girl in her son’s class at Darlinghurst Public School was allegedly subjected to vile bullying by a fourth-grader in October.

The nine-year-old girl was left traumatized by the alleged incident and has since dropped out of school.

Furious parents have accused the school of sweeping the incident under the carpet.

“He (allegedly) said something like ‘Jospeh (student’s name changed) wants to suck your tits,'” one mother recalled.

‘If she were my daughter I would be beside myself, there was absolutely no duty to care for her.

‘Being forced to sit in a class with the perpetrator for the rest of the day – humiliated; and the situation diminished for her; Very similar to how most victims of sexual assault feel.

“Darlo (Darlinghurst Public School) mishandled the situation, a box was ticked and then swept under the rug.”

Several parents claimed that the student was not punished and was instead given a “reflection sheet.”

The NSW Department of Education insisted the school reprimanded the boy for his behaviour.

‘The school acted immediately upon learning that an inappropriate comment had been made, providing support to the student. “The other student was disciplined appropriately,” a spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

“The school contacted the parents of both students about what occurred and the actions taken.”

The girl’s parents declined to comment when contacted by Daily Mail Australia.

But the concerned mother who spoke up claimed that the much-loved community school, which previously had a stellar reputation now has unruly classrooms and bullying.

‘There is a culture of this at school: zero responsibility, zero punishment. “Bullying is out of control and teachers are often too inexperienced to deal with it,” she said.

‘The school is too tolerant of bad behavior and as a result teachers and local children are leaving in droves.

“Enrollments have been steadily declining since before Covid.”

The school’s motto is “Strive to Achieve,” according to its website.

“Darlinghurst Public Schools teachers are committed to teaching a broad and balanced curriculum and serving the educational, emotional and social needs of all students,” the website states.

“Darlinghurst Public School is a safe environment where students engage and challenge themselves.”
