Steamy movie scenes have a reputation for making even the most adventurous sex acts seem like a good idea.

Think of “Fifty Shades Darker,” where Hollywood heartthrob Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have fun while having water thrown at them in the shower.

But now, thousands of people have taken to social media to give some wise advice on engaging in sexual escapades, revealing the intimate acts they would never do again.

An online forum posted on social media site Reddit called “What’s something sexual you will NEVER do again?” has attracted more than 40 million members, with some saying their risky sexual practices resulted in serious health complications.

Three adventurous habits emerge as the most dangerous, one of which is practiced by half of British adults, according to surveys.

Elsewhere on the internet, people have also recounted how they ended up with sprained backs, bruises, twisted ankles and even a bloody nose when they tried to have “movie-worthy sex” in the bathroom.

Revealing their intimate woes, forum users ranked sex in the shower, on the beach and even in the woods among the top three acts they should never explore.

Most commenters said shower sex should come with a health warning, with many recalling times they nearly passed out while engaging in the act.

“Bended over shower sex made me dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out,” one wrote, while another said, “I actually passed out during shower sex. Never again.”

Others said the lack of space was a health hazard; one user claimed she fractured her ribs during shower sex and hit her head on a ceramic shelf.

It’s no wonder that shower games can make you feel dizzy and even faint.

Vasovagal syncope, the most common type of fainting, occurs when blood pressure suddenly drops, temporarily depriving the brain of oxygen and causing the person to fall unconscious.

It occurs when the vagus nerve, which regulates heart rate and blood vessel constriction, temporarily loses its normal regulation due to overstimulation.

As a result, blood vessels widen, blood pressure drops, and heart rate may also slow down or even stop for a few seconds.

Many factors can cause this type of fainting, including after an orgasm, lying down, or experiencing a rush of emotions that increase the risk of vagus nerve overstimulation.

Drug use during sexual intercourse can also play a role.

While it is rarely a fatal or life-threatening condition, it is recommended to seek medical help if it occurs frequently.

Regular shower sex can also cause irritation to the genitals, as it removes natural lubrication and increases the risk of transmitting infections.

Experts have long warned that Semen, vaginal fluids, and other bodily fluids may not be completely removed, making it possible to contract sexually transmitted infections (STIs) during shower sex.

Elsewhere on the forum, people have recounted how they’ve ended up with sprained backs, bruises, twisted ankles and even bloody noses when they tried to have “movie-worthy sex” in the bathroom.

Users also took to Reddit to warn against sex on the beach. “It’s rude, abrupt and irritating and it gets everywhere,” one user wrote.

A second added: “The risk of urinary tract infection afterwards is also extremely high.”

While urinary tract infections are common year-round, research suggests that the frequency with which women experience them increases during the summer months.

Experts They have suggested this is because Bacteria thrive in warm, moist environments, such as bathing suits.

Beach sand can also contain 100 times higher levels of fecal bacteria than seawater, according to a study published in the journal Environmental science and technology.

Next on the list was sex in a forest, because of the skin lesions that can occur from rolling around in sticks and nettles.

One user said he was forced to visit the hospital after having sex outdoors.

‘Sex in the dark woods… worst experience ever. We ended up on the ground… next morning my knees and forearms were blistered like eggs from POISON OAK… Had to go to the hospital because I was in such bad shape.’

Another responded: ‘This sounds like my experience with this.

“It’s the worst. I was left with egg-sized scabs after the rash and they were ridiculously thick. I literally had the scars for years.”

When it comes into contact with the skin, the sap oil from poisonous plants, including poison oak, can cause an allergic reaction, such as a red rash, swelling, and itching.

According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, in “severe cases” or if the rash appears on the face or genitals, seek professional medical attention.

Public sex is not an uncommon practice: About 43 percent of participants in a 2015 U.S. probability survey reported it as a lifetime sexual behavior.

A 2022 survey put the figure at two-thirds in the UK.

Sexual health and wellness are crucial and often overlooked aspects of a good life.

But recent trends show that prudish Brits aren’t having as much sex as they used to.

According to a survey of 2,000 adults by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) earlier this year, men and women typically romp just 46 times a year – or once every eight days.

Millennials ages 25 to 34 reported having sex more frequently: Nearly three in 10 (29 percent) had sex more than once a week, compared with 26 percent among those ages 35 to 44 and 24 percent in the 18 to 24 age group.
