The accident occurred about 16 kilometers from the Armando Mendes neighborhood of Manaus, where Jones Lopes, 55, was beaten to death by a group of motorcyclists on Wednesday after running over a motorcycle deliveryman.
Disturbing footage showed an angry mob of motorcyclists dragging Lopes from his car before beating him and throwing him to the ground.
Lopes, a married father of three, was pinned to the pavement and punched and kicked in the head until he was unconscious.
A video showed a person hitting Lopes’ head with a brick.
As of Thursday, no arrests had been made, according to the Manaus Civil Police, which is leading the investigation.
