Fans were seen celebrating outside an Oakland beauty store just seconds before a female rapper was shot and killed.
Alliauna Green, 27, known as Tan DaGod, was killed around 5 p.m. Saturday as she was hosting Glamor Beauty Supply on Telegraph Avenue.
The store was celebrating its grand opening under new ownership after closing its doors in May. The rising rapper planned a gathering there and posted videos beaming with pride just before the night turned deadly.
A crowd of supporters were seen dancing and singing along to the music moments before several shots were heard. Green later died in hospital, while a woman, who was also shot, survived.
The Oakland Police Department is currently investigating the fatal shooting and searching for the suspect who witnesses say fled the scene on foot.

The brief clip before the shooting shows friends and supporters, including some with young children, dancing and celebrating the opening in sunny scenes in the store’s parking lot.
The good times quickly turned to terror as people quickly ducked when several gunshots were heard near the store.
Just before the fatal incident, Green shared clips with her 20,000 Instagram followers as she gave fans an animated tour of the store while wearing a black-and-white furry jacket and a large silver necklace.
Green also shared photos of herself sitting on a gold throne next to bright pink and purple floral decor inside the new store.
The owner, who asked to remain anonymous, said he invited the singer to his store because he supported black-owned businesses.

During the shooting, shoppers sought shelter in a nearby doughnut shop.
A store employee named Vincent explained what he witnessed when the violence broke out.
‘I heard some gunshots and I thought the gunshots were part of the music, part of the performance, then I heard three very loud gunshots.
“I think the rapper was screaming, ‘I’m shot, I’m shot,’ and she was lying on the ground until medics arrived,” Vincent said. KTVU.
Another witness, Sul Cho, who works at a Korean barbecue restaurant near the beauty shop, said the young rapper appeared to be the shooter’s target.
“I was just aiming at her, because I saw it. I wasn’t shooting at everyone, I was just shooting at her,” Cho recalled.
In the evening, devastated friends and family gathered outside Glamor Beauty Supply to lay flowers and pay tribute to the music artist.
Witnesses said the violence began with a verbal altercation and that the shooter was a black man wearing a hooded sweatshirt who fled on foot.

One person was seen sobbing on the ground as a friend comforted her, alongside a bunch of red roses left by mourners.
Hip hop artist Mistah FAB posted a tribute to Green on Instagram, saying he was booked to be at the store opening with her, but “God had other plans.”
“The violence is beyond all comprehension, the pain, the suffering, the trauma has had a lasting impact forever,” she wrote alongside a photo of Green.

Fans have speculated that the rapper’s murder could have been fueled by ongoing tension between Green and her ex-boyfriend’s family.
Green served time in prison for shooting her ex-boyfriend in self-defense in 2020. After being released, she was placed in protective custody, which she left to attend the meeting.
A video resurfaced from September 2023 and showed Green lighting up a joint next to a fake tombstone that read “Here Lies My Ex” while promoting his new EP “Ex Wood Pack.”

“You should have never died. You should have never played with me because then I would have to take you to the third grade,” Green said in the video while laughing and looking at the headstone.
“I made this extra fucking childish, making families mad… well, because they’re not going to do anything about it.”
