Alex Sánchez is one of a small group of players who have played in the first division of Spanish football, La Liga, and have played in Australia.

But Sanchez is not even playing professionally. Instead, he is helping to propel Sydney Olympic to the NSW National Premier League title over the weekend.

The 29-year-old striker was born with only one hand.

After having initially seen it as a distraction while building his career in Spain, he is now eager to show that he is a role model.

He also studies a doctorate in human rights in sport, since his goal is to inspire children who practice sports with a disability.
