The surprising reason that Natalie Barr ONLY pays in cash: Sunrise host reveals that she uses an ATM once a week and avoids card transactions

Sunrise host Natalie Barr has revealed the surprising reason why she only pays cash, as the country is recovering from an EFTPOS crisis.

Natalie said on Friday that she did not notice the malfunction because she uses an ATM once a week to withdraw the money she needs and to actively avoid paying for the card.

She made the confession during a news report about a Telstra outage on Thursday, which destroyed thousands of ATMs and companies like Woolworths and Caltex could not accept card payments.

& # 39; None of us are doing it. Who are these people who still have cash with them? & # 39; asked Sunrise host Sam Armytage.

& # 39; I do, & # 39; Natalie answered, explaining that a weekly allowance helps her manage her budget.

& # 39; I withdraw money every week and try to save it a bit. I've been doing it for about a year. I use cash to buy my bread and apples and I didn't notice that (the outage), & she said.

& # 39; You should see the look I get when I say, "Can I pay in cash?" & # 39;

Natalie & # 39; s confession came just a few hours after customers and businesses were stumbled into chaos by a Telstra outage on Thursday afternoon.

Customers could not use thousands of ATMs from the Commonwealth, ANZ, NAB and Westpac banks from 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, large retailers such as Xbox, Woolworths, Australia Post and Caltex were unable to process payments.

Telstra announced that most of its service was back online before 7 p.m.
