The Super Mario Bros. jumped. Movie grossed over $1 billion at the global box office and became the tenth animated film to achieve this feat.
It took the film just 26 days to pass the $1 billion mark, and it also became the 10th-biggest animated film of all time, having now surpassed Despicable Me 2 and Minions: The Rise of Gru.
The film made another $40 million in the weekend for a total of $490 million made in North America alone, and internationally, it made $68.31 million in the weekend for a worldwide total of $532.45 million.
In addition to being the third Illumination movie to gross $1 billion after Minions and Despicable Me 3, it’s also the seventh-biggest worldwide movie of all time, besting Jurassic World Dominion and the original Despicable Me movie.
