The animated feature starring Chris Pratt was previously estimated to have grossed $87 million in its second weekend of release, according to Hollywood Reporter.
However, the film, which recently became the biggest blockbuster of 2023, was later reported to have taken $92.5 million from domestic moviegoers by Comscore, effectively giving it the seventh-biggest opening weekend in history.
ComScore box office analyst Paul Dergarabedian released a statement commenting on the release of the Super Mario Bros. film. Movie for fans all over the world.
“The film is taking over the movie market, redefining the box office potential of a video game film adaptation, and setting the stage for a perfect summer movie season,” he said.
